WARNING: BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU DO WORK ON THE ENGINE PARTS AFTER THE ENGINE SHUTDOWN. USE APPLICABLE THERMAL GLOVES. THE ENGINE PARTS CAN STAY HOT FOR ONE HOUR AFTER SHUTDOWN AND CAN BURN YOU.

A. Energize the Aircraft Electrical Circuits (Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-861-002).

B. Safety Precautions
   (1) On the center pedestal, on ENG panel 115VU:
     (a) Make sure that the ENG/MODE selector switch is in the NORM position.
     (b) Make sure that the ENG/MASTER 1(2) control switch was in the OFF position not less than five minutes before you do this procedure.
     (c) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to operate the ENG/MODE selector switch and the ENG/MASTER 1(2) control switch.
   (2) On the ENG section of maintenance panel 50VU:
     (a) Make sure that the ON legend of the FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
     (b) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to energize FADEC 1(2).

D. Continue to Prepare for Test
   (1) Make sure that the aircraft is not positioned on jacks and make sure that the landing gear system is not simulated in flight configuration.
   (2) Make sure that at least one passenger door is open.
4. Procedure
Subtask 71-13-13-710-050-A
A. Do as follows:
NOTE: Two mechanics are recommended to perform this task, one in the cockpit and one to action the fan cowl latches.
   (1) Make sure that all three fan cowl latches are correctly closed (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-410-803).
   (2) Turn the ENG/MODE selector switch to the CRANK position.
   (3) On the Upper ECAM display unit, make sure that the ENG1(2) FAN COWL NOT CLSD warning message does not come into view.
   (4) Turn the ENG/MODE selector switch to the NORM position.
   (5) Open fan latch L3:
     (a) Push the fan cowl door latch trigger to release the latch.
     (b) Make sure the handle hangs down.
   (6) Turn the ENG/MODE selector switch to the CRANK position.
   (7) On the Upper ECAM display unit, make sure that the ENG1(2) FAN COWL NOT CLSD warning message does not come into view.
   (8) Turn the ENG/MODE selector switch to the NORM position.
   (9) Open fan latch L2:
     (a) Push the fan cowl door latch trigger to release the latch.
     (b) Make sure that the handle hangs down.
   (10) Turn the ENG/MODE selector switch to the CRANK position.
   (11) On the Upper ECAM display unit, make sure that the ENG1(2) FAN COWL NOT CLSD warning message comes into view.
   (12) Turn the ENG/MODE selector switch to the NORM position.
   (13) Close latch L2 until it is flush with the door surface and locked in position.
   (14) Turn the ENG/MODE selector switch to the CRANK position.
   (15) On the Upper ECAM display unit, make sure that the ENG1(2) FAN COWL NOT CLSD warning message does not come into view.
   (16) Turn the ENG/MODE selector switch to the NORM position.
   (17) Open fan latch L1:
     (a) Push the fan cowl door latch trigger to release the latch.
     (b) Make sure that the handle hangs down.
   (18) Turn the ENG/MODE selector switch to the CRANK position.
   (19) On the Upper ECAM display unit, make sure that the ENG1(2) FAN COWL NOT CLSD warning message comes into view.
   (20) Turn the ENG/MODE selector switch to the NORM position.
   (21) Close latch L3 until it is flush with the door surface and locked in position.
   (22) Turn the ENG/MODE selector switch to the CRANK position.
   (23) On the Upper ECAM display unit, make sure that the ENG1(2) FAN COWL NOT CLSD warning message does not come into view.
   (24) Turn the ENG/MODE selector switch to the NORM position.
   (25) Open fan latch L2:
     (a) Push the fan cowl door latch trigger to release the latch.
     (b) Make sure that the handle hangs down.
   (26) Turn the ENG/MODE selector switch to the CRANK position.
   (27) On the Upper ECAM display unit, make sure that the ENG1(2) FAN COWL NOT CLSD warning message comes into view.
   (28) Turn the ENG/MODE selector switch to the NORM position.
   (29) Close latch L1 until it is flush with the door surface and locked in position.
   (30) Turn the ENG/MODE selector switch to the CRANK position.
   (31) On the Upper ECAM display unit, make sure that the ENG1(2) FAN COWL NOT CLSD warning message does not come into view.
   (32) Turn the ENG/MODE selector switch to the NORM position.
   (33) Close latch L2 until it is flush with the door surface and locked in position.
5. Close-up
Subtask 71-13-13-860-056-A
A. Put the aircraft back to its initial configuration.
   (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (2) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).

B. De-Energize the Aircraft Electrical Circuits (Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-862-002).
