Installation of the Fan Cowl Door Latch
WARNING:
BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU DO WORK ON THE ENGINE PARTS AFTER THE ENGINE SHUTDOWN. USE APPLICABLE THERMAL GLOVES. THE ENGINE PARTS CAN STAY HOT FOR ONE HOUR AFTER SHUTDOWN AND CAN BURN YOU.
WARNING:
BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU USE CONSUMABLE MATERIALS. OBEY THE MATERIAL MANUFACTURER'S INSTRUCTIONS AND YOUR LOCAL REGULATIONS.
CAUTION:
DO NOT EXTEND THE SLATS WHEN THE FAN COWLS AND THE THRUST REVERSER COWLS ARE OPEN. IF YOU DO THIS, DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT CAN OCCUR.

A. Safety Precautions
(1) On the center pedestal, on ENG panel 115VU:
(a) Make sure that the ENG/MODE selector switch is in the NORM position.
(b) Make sure that the ENG/MASTER 1(2) control switch was in the OFF position not less than five minutes before you do this procedure.
(c) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) are in position to tell persons not to operate:
(a) Make sure that the ON legend of the FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
(b) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to energize FADEC 1(2).
Subtask 71-13-13-010-070-A (1) On the center pedestal, on ENG panel 115VU:

4. Procedure(1) Make sure that the fan cowl doors are open (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-803):

A. Installation of the Fan Cowl Door Latch
(1) Clean the latch (1) and mating surfaces of the fan cowl door. Use GENERAL CLEANING AGENT - MULTI PURPOSE (Material No.CPNCL02589) and LINT-FREE COTTON CLOTH (Material No.CPNCL02069) .
(2) Carefully put the latch (1) in position on the fan cowl door.
(3) Install the latch (1) with the new AIPC 71-13-11-13-040 NUT (4), washer (3) and bolt (2).
(4) TORQUE the bolt (2) to between 1.79 and 0.25 m.daN (158.41 and 22.12 lbf.in )

(5) Safety the nut (4) with the AIPC 71-13-11-13-050 COTTER PIN (5).
(6) Brush seal the nut (4), washer (3) and cotter pin (5) with Molykote 111 NON HARDENING JOINTING PUTTY (Material No.CPNCL00337) .
Subtask 71-13-13-820-052-A (1) Clean the latch (1) and mating surfaces of the fan cowl door. Use GENERAL CLEANING AGENT - MULTI PURPOSE (Material No.CPNCL02589) and LINT-FREE COTTON CLOTH (Material No.CPNCL02069) .
(2) Carefully put the latch (1) in position on the fan cowl door.
(3) Install the latch (1) with the new AIPC 71-13-11-13-040 NUT (4), washer (3) and bolt (2).
(4) TORQUE the bolt (2) to between 1.79 and 0.25 m.daN (158.41 and 22.12 lbf.in )
. (5) Safety the nut (4) with the AIPC 71-13-11-13-050 COTTER PIN (5).
(6) Brush seal the nut (4), washer (3) and cotter pin (5) with Molykote 111 NON HARDENING JOINTING PUTTY (Material No.CPNCL00337) .
B. Check and Adjustment of the Fan Cowl Door Latch
(1) Adjust the fan cowl door latch (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-13-820-801).
5. Close-up(1) Adjust the fan cowl door latch (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-13-820-801).

A. Close Access
(1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) Close the fan cowl doors (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-410-803):
(a) FOR [4020KM1] (POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE, ENGINE 1)

(3) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
(1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) Close the fan cowl doors (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-410-803):
