(1) Install the keyed latch (90) on the left hand door with bolt (20), bushings (25), washer (30) and nut (35).
(2) TORQUE the nut (35) to between 105 and 95 lbf.in (1.19 and 1.07 m.daN )

(4) Install the adjustable-keeper housing (85) on the right hand fan cowl door with bolts (60), washers (65) and nuts (70).
(5) TORQUE the nuts (70) to between 70 and 60 lbf.in (0.79 and 0.68 m.daN )
.
(6) Install the clevis (95) in the adjustable-keeper housing (85).
(b) Make sure that the guide of the adjustable-keeper housing is in the groove of the clevis (95).
(c) Turn the nut (75) counterclockwise until it engages the clevis (95) and you can see some threads of the clevis (95) at the back side of the adjustable-keeper housing (85).

Installation of the Fan Cowl Door Latches and Keepers
WARNING:
BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU USE CONSUMABLE MATERIALS. OBEY THE MATERIAL MANUFACTURER'S INSTRUCTIONS AND YOUR LOCAL REGULATIONS.
CAUTION:
ADJUST THE FAN COWL DOORS WHEN A NEW LATCH IS INSTALLED. IF THE FAN COWL DOORS ARE NOT CORRECTLY ADJUSTED THE DOORS CAN OPEN IN FLIGHT.
1. Reason for the JobNOTE: SB RA32071-163 (equivalent to Airbus service bulletin SB 71-1068) introduces a lockable latch in the forward position (Latch No. 1) that must be opened and closed and locked with a key and flag assembly. The key and flag assembly are stowed in the cockpit and must not be used if there is damage to the key or flag.

A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) On the center pedestal, on the ENG panel 115VU, make sure that a WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to start the engine.
(2) On the overhead maintenance panel 50VU, make sure that the ON legend of the ENG/FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off. Make sure that a WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to energize the FADEC 1(2).

DO NOT TURN THE CLEVISES. IF YOU TURN THE CLEVISES, YOU CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE HOUSING GUIDE. IF THE GUIDE IS DAMAGED, THE CLEVIS CAN TURN. IF THE CLEVIS CAN TURN, THE CLEVIS CAN NOT ENGAGE CORRECTLY WITH THE LATCH AND CAN KEEP THE LATCH FROM CLOSING CORRECTLY. IF THE LATCHES ARE NOT CLOSED CORRECTLY, THE FAN COWLS CAN OPEN IN FLIGHT.
(a) Put the threaded end of the clevis (50) into the housing (55) until it touches the nut (75). Make sure that the guide of the housing (55) is in the groove of the clevis (50). (b) Turn the nut (75) counterclockwise until it engages the clevis (50) and you can see some of the threads of the clevis (50) at the back of the housing (55).

(5) TORQUE the nuts (70) to between 70 and 60 lbf.in (0.79 and 0.68 m.daN )
. (6) Install the clevis (50) in the housing (55).
CAUTION:
DO NOT TURN THE CLEVIS. IF YOU TURN THE CLEVIS, YOU CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE GUIDE OF THE HOUSING.IF THE GUIDE IS BROKEN,THE CLEVIS CAN TURN AND IT CAN NOT ENGAGE CORRECTLY WITH THE LATCH AND KEEP THE LATCH FROM CLOSING CORRECTLY. IF THE LATCHES ARE NOT CLOSED CORRECTLY, THE FAN COWLS CAN OPEN IN FLIGHT.
(a) Put the threaded end of the clevis (50) into the housing (55) until it touches the nut (75). Make sure that the guide of the housing (55) is in the groove of the clevis (50). (b) Turn the nut (75) counterclockwise until it engages the clevis (50) and you can see some of the threads of the clevis (50) at the back of the housing (55). Make sure that the clevis (50) is in the restrainer (80).
