Subtask 71-13-00-941-072-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Safety Precautions
(1) On the center pedestal, on the ENG panel 115VU:
(a) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to start the engine.
(2) Make sure that the engine 1(2) shutdown occurred not less than five minutes before you do this procedure.
(3) On the overhead maintenance panel 50VU:
(a) Make sure that the ON legend of the ENG/FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
(b) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to energize the FADEC 1(2).
4. Procedure(1) On the center pedestal, on the ENG panel 115VU:
(a) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to start the engine.
(2) Make sure that the engine 1(2) shutdown occurred not less than five minutes before you do this procedure.
(3) On the overhead maintenance panel 50VU:
(a) Make sure that the ON legend of the ENG/FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
(b) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to energize the FADEC 1(2).

A. Latching and Rigging Procedure
(1) Do the adjustment of the fan cowl spigots and bumpers (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-800-011).
(2) Make sure that the gearbox outlet breather duct is aligned with the gearbox breather outlet vent on the R/H cowl door (Ref. AMM TASK 72-61-49-400-010).
(3) Do a check of the clearance around the starter ducts (Ref. AMM TASK 80-13-49-820-010).
(4) For both left and right fan cowl doors, check the step between the outer barrel aft edge and the fan cowl leading edge upper corner (Ref. AMM TASK 71-10-00-220-010).
(a) If the step is in the limits, return the aircraft to service.
(b) If the step is out of the limit:
1 Open and close the fan cowl doors three times (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-010) (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-410-010).
(5) For both left and right fan cowl doors, check the step between the outer barrel aft edge and the fan cowl leading edge upper corner (Ref. AMM TASK 71-10-00-220-010).
(a) If the step is in the limits, return the aircraft to service.
(b) If the step is out of the limits, continue with Para 4. B.
Subtask 71-13-00-210-063-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Do the adjustment of the fan cowl spigots and bumpers (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-800-011).
(2) Make sure that the gearbox outlet breather duct is aligned with the gearbox breather outlet vent on the R/H cowl door (Ref. AMM TASK 72-61-49-400-010).
(3) Do a check of the clearance around the starter ducts (Ref. AMM TASK 80-13-49-820-010).
(4) For both left and right fan cowl doors, check the step between the outer barrel aft edge and the fan cowl leading edge upper corner (Ref. AMM TASK 71-10-00-220-010).
(a) If the step is in the limits, return the aircraft to service.
(b) If the step is out of the limit:
1 Open and close the fan cowl doors three times (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-010) (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-410-010).
(5) For both left and right fan cowl doors, check the step between the outer barrel aft edge and the fan cowl leading edge upper corner (Ref. AMM TASK 71-10-00-220-010).
(a) If the step is in the limits, return the aircraft to service.
(b) If the step is out of the limits, continue with Para 4. B.
B. Visual Check of the Cantilever Spring Seal
(1) Check that the spring seal is not trapped between the fan cowl door leading edge and the air intake cowl.
(a) If a contact occurs, remove and re-install the cantilever (Ref. AMM TASK 54-52-12-300-001).
(b) If the problem persists, please contact Airbus.
(2) For both left and right fan cowl doors, check the step between the outer barrel aft edge and the fan cowl leading edge upper corner (Ref. AMM TASK 71-10-00-220-010).
(a) If the step is in the limits, return the aircraft to service.
(b) If the step is out of the limits, continue with Para 4. C.
Subtask 71-13-00-210-064-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Check that the spring seal is not trapped between the fan cowl door leading edge and the air intake cowl.
(a) If a contact occurs, remove and re-install the cantilever (Ref. AMM TASK 54-52-12-300-001).
(b) If the problem persists, please contact Airbus.
(2) For both left and right fan cowl doors, check the step between the outer barrel aft edge and the fan cowl leading edge upper corner (Ref. AMM TASK 71-10-00-220-010).
(a) If the step is in the limits, return the aircraft to service.
(b) If the step is out of the limits, continue with Para 4. C.
C. Check of the Fan Cowl Upper Locator
(1) Measure the upper "V" locator width A.
(a) If A is less than 0.526 in. (13.36 mm), continue to Para 4. D.
(b) For fan cowls pre-VSB V2500-NAC-71-0293:
1 If the step is in the limits, return the aircraft to service.
2 If the step is out of the limits, continue with Para 4. D.
Subtask 71-13-00-210-066-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Measure the upper "V" locator width A.
(a) If A is less than 0.526 in. (13.36 mm), continue to Para 4. D.
(b) For fan cowls pre-VSB V2500-NAC-71-0293:
- If A is more than 0.526 in. (13.36 mm), apply VSB V2500-NAC-71-0293 for the upper locator trimming.
1 If the step is in the limits, return the aircraft to service.
2 If the step is out of the limits, continue with Para 4. D.
D. Check of the Fan Cowl Door Corner Pieces
(1) For fan cowls pre-VSB V2500-71-0306:
(a) If the step is in the limits, return the aircraft to service.
(b) If the step is out of the limits, continue with Para 4. E.
Subtask 71-13-00-710-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) For fan cowls pre-VSB V2500-71-0306:
- If the fan cowl door corner pieces are metallic, apply VSB V2500-NAC-71-0306.
(a) If the step is in the limits, return the aircraft to service.
(b) If the step is out of the limits, continue with Para 4. E.
E. Do a high power assurance test.
(1) Do a high power assurance test (Ref. AMM TASK 71-00-00-710-013).
(2) For both left and right fan cowl doors, check the step between the outer barrel aft edge and the fan cowl leading edge upper corner (Ref. AMM TASK 71-10-00-220-010).
(a) If the step is in the limits, return the aircraft to service.
(b) If the step is out of the limits, continue with Para 4. F.
Subtask 71-13-00-210-065-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Do a high power assurance test (Ref. AMM TASK 71-00-00-710-013).
(2) For both left and right fan cowl doors, check the step between the outer barrel aft edge and the fan cowl leading edge upper corner (Ref. AMM TASK 71-10-00-220-010).
(a) If the step is in the limits, return the aircraft to service.
(b) If the step is out of the limits, continue with Para 4. F.
F. Check of the Nose Cowl Upper Locator Receptacles
(1) Measure the upper locator receptacles width B on the nose cowl.
Subtask 71-13-00-210-067-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Measure the upper locator receptacles width B on the nose cowl.
G. Check of Spring Seal and Fire Bracket Profile
(1) Close the fan cowl doors (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-410-010).
(2) Measure and record the step value C at the fan cowl upper corner.
(3) Remove one fan cowl door before the cantilever removal (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-11-000-010) or (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-16-000-010).
(4) Remove the cantilever (Ref. AMM TASK 54-52-12-300-001).
(5) Install the fan cowl door previously removed (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-11-400-010) or (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-16-400-010).
(6) Close the fan cowl doors (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-410-010).
(7) Measure and record the step value D at the fan cowl upper corner.
(8) Please contact Airbus and provide values B if necessary, C and D.
5. Close-up(1) Close the fan cowl doors (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-410-010).
(2) Measure and record the step value C at the fan cowl upper corner.
(3) Remove one fan cowl door before the cantilever removal (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-11-000-010) or (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-16-000-010).
(4) Remove the cantilever (Ref. AMM TASK 54-52-12-300-001).
(5) Install the fan cowl door previously removed (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-11-400-010) or (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-16-400-010).
(6) Close the fan cowl doors (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-410-010).
(7) Measure and record the step value D at the fan cowl upper corner.
(8) Please contact Airbus and provide values B if necessary, C and D.
