B. Get Access
(1) Open the fan cowl doors (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-802):
(a) FOR [4020KM1] (POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE, ENG 1)

(b) FOR [4020KM2] (POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE, ENG 2)

(2) Put an ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) - ADJUSTABLE in position.
4. Procedure(1) Open the fan cowl doors (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-802):
(a) FOR [4020KM1] (POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE, ENG 1)

(b) FOR [4020KM2] (POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE, ENG 2)

(2) Put an ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) - ADJUSTABLE in position.
CAUTION:
WIPE CLEAN ALL PARTS AND TOOLS AS NECESSARY TO REMOVE UNWANTED DEBRIS AND PREVENT DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE.
Subtask 71-13-00-210-076-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL A. Do a General Visual Inspection (GVI) of the Fan Cowl Door Retroreflective Tape
(1) Look for missing tape:
(a) If the area of missing tape is less than 30 percent of the total tape area, repair the tape (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-300-802).
(b) If the area of missing tape is more than 30 percent of the total tape area, replace the tape (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-300-802).
(2) Look for fluid damage:
(a) If the area of damage is less than 30 percent of the tape and there is no loss of retroreflectivity, repair the tape (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-300-802).
(b) If the area of damage is more than 30 percent of the tape or there is loss of retroreflectivity, replace the tape (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-300-802).
(3) Look for loss of retroreflectivity:
(a) If the area of damage is less than 30 percent of the tape, repair the tape (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-300-802).
(b) If the area of damage is more than 30 percent of the tape, replace the tape (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-300-802).
(4) Look for delamination:
(a) If the area of damage is less than 30 percent of the tape and there is no loss of retroreflectivity, repair the tape (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-300-802).
(b) If the area of damage is more than 30 percent of the tape or there is loss of retroreflectivity, replace the tape (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-300-802).
(5) Look for curling of the tape edges:
(a) If there is a small amount of curling less than 0.25 in. (6.35 mm) from the edge of the tape and there is no loss of retroreflectivity, repair the tape (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-300-802).
(b) If there is a large amount of curling or the curling is more than 0.25 in. (6.35 mm) from the edge of the tape, replace the tape (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-300-802).
5. Close-up(1) Look for missing tape:
(a) If the area of missing tape is less than 30 percent of the total tape area, repair the tape (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-300-802).
(b) If the area of missing tape is more than 30 percent of the total tape area, replace the tape (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-300-802).
(2) Look for fluid damage:

(3) Look for loss of retroreflectivity:

(4) Look for delamination:
(a) If the area of damage is less than 30 percent of the tape and there is no loss of retroreflectivity, repair the tape (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-300-802).
(b) If the area of damage is more than 30 percent of the tape or there is loss of retroreflectivity, replace the tape (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-300-802).
(5) Look for curling of the tape edges:

(2) Close the fan cowl doors (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-410-802):
(a) FOR [4020KM1] (POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE, ENG 1)

(3) Remove the access platform(s).
(4) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
(1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) Close the fan cowl doors (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-410-802):
(a) FOR [4020KM1] (POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE, ENG 1)

(3) Remove the access platform(s).
(4) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
