Installation of the High Speed Tape (Nose Air Intake Hoisting Point Plug)

3. Job Set-up
Subtask 71-11-00-941-068-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Safety Precautions
   (1) On the center pedestal, on ENG panel 115VU:
     (a) Put the WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to start the engine.
   (2) Make sure that the engine 1(2) shutdown occurred not less than five minutes before you do this procedure.
   (3) On overhead maintenance panel 50VU:
     (a) Make sure that the ON legend of the ENG/FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
     (b) Put the WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to energize FADEC 1(2).

B. Get Access
   (1) Open the fan cowl doors (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-040):
     (a) FOR [1000EM1] (ENGINE-1)

     (b) FOR [1000EM2] (ENGINE-2)

   (2) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 1M (3 FT)-ADJUSTABLE in position.
4. Procedure
Subtask 71-11-00-420-061-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Installation of the High Speed Tape
   (1) If the damaged insert bolt(s) are there, remove the bolt(s) from the hoist point(s) on the inlet cowl.
   (2) Cut Adhesive Film Tape-- Aluminium Foil - (Material No.05RAB9) to the correct dimensions to the opening of the inlet cowl hoist point(s) SRM 517712.
   (3) Apply the Adhesive Film Tape-- Aluminium Foil - (Material No.05RAB9) to the opening of the inlet cowl hoist point(s) SRM 517712.
   (4) Make the Adhesive Film Tape-- Aluminium Foil - (Material No.05RAB9) smooth on the mating surfaces of the inlet cowl. Remove the air pockets and push the edges of the Adhesive Film Tape-- Aluminium Foil - (Material No.05RAB9) tightly SRM 517712.
   (5) Make sure that the Adhesive Film Tape-- Aluminium Foil - (Material No.05RAB9) gives the same protection as the insert bolt(s).
5. Close-up

A. Close Access
   (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (2) Close the fan cowl doors (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-410-040):
     (a) FOR [1000EM1] (ENGINE-1)

     (b) FOR [1000EM2] (ENGINE-2)

   (3) Remove the access platform(s).
   (4) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
