Detailed Inspection of Spoiler 1, Upper and Lower Skins, at Trailing Edge and Inboard and Outboard Edges
WARNING:
MAKE SURE THAT THE GROUND SAFETY-LOCKS ARE IN POSITION ON THE LANDING GEAR. THIS WILL PREVENT UNWANTED MOVEMENT OF THE LANDING GEAR, AND THUS POSSIBLE INJURY TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT AND/OR EQUIPMENT.

PUT THE SAFETY DEVICES AND THE WARNING NOTICES IN POSITION BEFORE YOU START A TASK ON OR NEAR:
- THE FLIGHT CONTROLS
- THE FLIGHT CONTROL SURFACES
- THE LANDING GEAR AND THE RELATED DOORS
- COMPONENTS THAT MOVE.

1. Reason for the Job- DO NOT CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE ELECTRICAL CABLE RACEWAYS.
- DO NOT CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE ELECTRICAL CABLE INSTALLATIONS.
- MAKE SURE THAT THE ELECTRICAL CABLES ARE INSTALLED CORRECTLY. INCORRECT INSTALLATION CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.

A. Safety Precautions
(1) As necessary, use the applicable SAFETY BARRIERS, specified by the operator's instructions and your local regulations.
(2) Put WARNING NOTICE(S) in the cockpit to tell persons not to operate the spoilers.
(3) Put WARNING NOTICE(S) in the cockpit to tell persons not to operate the flaps or slats.
(4) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT) below the applicable wing at spoiler 1, zone 580 (680).
Subtask 57-71-00-860-060-A (1) As necessary, use the applicable SAFETY BARRIERS, specified by the operator's instructions and your local regulations.
(2) Put WARNING NOTICE(S) in the cockpit to tell persons not to operate the spoilers.
(3) Put WARNING NOTICE(S) in the cockpit to tell persons not to operate the flaps or slats.
(4) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT) below the applicable wing at spoiler 1, zone 580 (680).
B. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) Do a manual extension of the spoilers (Ref. AMM TASK 27-60-00-866-002).
(2) Make sure that the 98D27604000000 COLLAR-SAFETY, SPOILER or 98D27604004000 COLLAR SAFETY SPOILER is installed on the spoiler actuator.
(3) Make sure that the 98D27803000000 LOCKING TOOL-FLAP SLAT LEVER,INT. POSITION is correctly installed on the flap/slat control lever.
Subtask 57-71-00-865-059-A (1) Do a manual extension of the spoilers (Ref. AMM TASK 27-60-00-866-002).
(2) Make sure that the 98D27604000000 COLLAR-SAFETY, SPOILER or 98D27604004000 COLLAR SAFETY SPOILER is installed on the spoiler actuator.
(3) Make sure that the 98D27803000000 LOCKING TOOL-FLAP SLAT LEVER,INT. POSITION is correctly installed on the flap/slat control lever.

A. Preparation for Inspection
(1) Use a Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) , made moist with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) to clean the spoiler 1 upper and lower skins in these areas:

- at the trailing edge
- at the inboard and outboard edges.
B. Detailed Inspection of Spoiler 1, Upper and Lower Skins, at Trailing Edge and Inboard and Outboard Edges
(1) Examine the spoiler 1 upper and lower skins at the trailing edge and at the inboard and outboard edges. Make sure that:
5. Close-up(1) Examine the spoiler 1 upper and lower skins at the trailing edge and at the inboard and outboard edges. Make sure that:
- there are no cracks
- there is no damage
- there are no signs of delamination
- there is no corrosion at the metal attachment points
- the protective finish is in the correct condition.
NOTE: If necessary, refer to the SRM 577000 for the correct repair procedure.

A. Remove the safety clip(s) and the tag(s) and close this(these) circuit breaker(s):

B. Aircraft Configuration
(1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) Retract the spoilers (Ref. AMM TASK 27-60-00-866-002).
(3) On the servo-control, make sure that the pointer on the hex-head is opposite the letter 'O' (Operation) on the housing.
Subtask 57-71-00-942-059-A (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) Retract the spoilers (Ref. AMM TASK 27-60-00-866-002).
(3) On the servo-control, make sure that the pointer on the hex-head is opposite the letter 'O' (Operation) on the housing.
C. Removal of Equipment
(1) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
(2) Remove the access platform(s).
(3) Remove the safety barriers.
(4) Remove the ground support and maintenance equipment, the special and standard tools and all other items.

(2) Remove the access platform(s).
(3) Remove the safety barriers.
