A. Preparation for Reactivation
   (1) Use a Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) , made moist with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) to clean:
  • the interface surface of the top-cover (1)
  • the interface surface of the tail-cone (4)
  • the interface surface of the movable-fairing (7)
  • the screws (2),(3) and (5) and the nuts (6).
   (2) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
   (3) Make sure that the parts retained from the removed component are clean, dry and in the correct condition.
   (4) Make sure that the surface finishes of the top-cover (1), the tail-cone (4) and the movable-fairing (7) are to the correct condition.
   (5) Apply Non Hardening Jointing Putty-Medium Temp. Area - - (Material No.06LCG9) to the screws (2) and (3), but not the threads.
   (6) Apply Release Agent-- Liquid Wax - (Material No.14DBB1) to the interfaces of the top-cover (1).
   (7) Apply a thin layer of Polysulfide Sealant-Low Adhesion Brushable - (Material No.06AEA1) to the interfaces of:
  • the top-cover (1)
  • the movable-fairing (7)
  • the tail-cone (4), the screws (5) and the nuts (6), but not to the threads.

   (3) Remove the deactivation notice from the cockpit.
   (4) Write down in the aircraft log that the top-cover and the tail-cone are reactivated.
   (5) Make sure that the dimensions at dim 'X' are between 0.5 mm (0.02 in.) and 3 mm (0.12 in.).
   (6) Use a Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) , made moist with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) to clean the groove between the movable-fairing (7) and the tail-cone (4).
   (7) Apply a bead of Polysulfide Sealant-General Purpose Fillet - (Material No.06AAB1) or Polysulfide Sealant-General Purpose Fillet - (Material No.06AAB1) into the groove between the tail-cone (4), the movable-fairing (7) and the top-cover (1).
   (8) Use Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) and a SPATULA - NON METALLIC to make the bead smooth and level.
   (9) Make sure that the bonding resistance (Ref. AMM TASK 20-28-00-912-802) is correct at:
  • the static-discharger retainer (8) and an adjacent metal part of the aircraft structure.
   (10) When the new sealant bead is dry, paint it with the applicable color.
