A. Safety Precautions
   (1) Put the WARNING NOTICE(S) in the cockpit to tell persons not to operate the flaps or slats.
   (2) As necessary, use the applicable SAFETY BARRIERS, specified by the operator's instructions and your local regulations.

B. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
   (1) Make sure that the flaps are fully retracted (Ref. AMM TASK 27-50-00-866-009).
   (2) Install the 98D27803500001 LOCKING TOOL ZERO POS on the flap/slat control lever.
   (3) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT)- ADJUSTABLE below the applicable flap track 2, 3 or 4, zone 531(631), 532 (632) or 533(633).

4. Procedure
CAUTION: BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU DO MAINTENANCE TASKS ON THE WING TRAILING EDGE:
  • DO NOT CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE ELECTRICAL CABLE RACEWAYS.
  • DO NOT CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE ELECTRICAL CABLE INSTALLATIONS.
  • MAKE SURE THAT THE ELECTRICAL CABLES ARE INSTALLED CORRECTLY. INCORRECT INSTALLATION CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.

A. Preparation for Reactivation
   (1) Clean the component interface and/or the adjacent area with a Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) , made moist with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) .
   (2) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.

B. Reactivation of the Flap-Track Fairing
   (1) Install the applicable new flap-track fairing (Ref. AMM TASK 57-55-11-400-001).
   (2) Make a note in the aircraft logbook that the fairing has been reactivated.
Subtask 57-55-00-440-051-C ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
B. Reactivation of the Flap-Track Fairing
   (1) At the track 2 position:
     (a) Remove and discard the cable tie from position 3.
     (b) Remove and discard the TAPE - 3M CONDUCTIVE ELEC(X-1181-COPPER OR X-1170-ALU) or Adhesive Film Tape-- Aluminium Foil - (Material No.05RAB9) from the electrical conduits from position 2.
     (c) Remove and discard the TIE WRAP(S).
     (d) Remove the conduits from position 1.
     (e) Make sure that the electrical harnesses are in the correct condition.
   (2) Install the applicable new flap-track fairing (Ref. AMM TASK 57-55-11-400-004).
   (3) Make a note in the aircraft logbook that the fairing has been reactivated.

B. Removal of Equipment
   (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (2) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
   (3) Remove the safety barriers.
   (4) Remove the access platform(s).
   (5) Remove the ground support and maintenance equipment, the special and standard tools and all other items.
