A. Safety Precautions
   (1) Put WARNING NOTICE(S) in the cockpit to tell persons not to operate the flaps or slats.
   (2) As necessary, use the applicable SAFETY BARRIERS, specified by the operator's instructions and your local regulations.

B. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
   (1) Extend the flaps fully (Ref. AMM TASK 27-50-00-866-008).
   (2) Make sure that the 98D27803000000 LOCKING TOOL-FLAP SLAT LEVER,INT. POSITION is on the slat/flap control lever.

D. Get Access
   (1) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT)- ADJUSTABLE below the applicable wing trailing edge at flap track 3, zone 532 (632).
   (2) Remove the access panel 532AT ( 632AT) and the flap track 3 fairing 532CB ( 632CB) (Ref. AMM TASK 57-55-11-000-001).
   (3) Remove and discard the cover from the applicable inspection hole on the front spar.
   (4) Make sure that the applicable inspection holes are clear of unwanted material.

E. Preparation of the Inspection Area
CAUTION: BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU DO MAINTENANCE TASKS ON THE WING TRAILING EDGE:
  • DO NOT CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE ELECTRICAL CABLE RACEWAYS.
  • DO NOT CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE ELECTRICAL CABLE INSTALLATIONS.
  • MAKE SURE THAT THE ELECTRICAL CABLES ARE INSTALLED CORRECTLY. INCORRECT INSTALLATION CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.
   (1) Make sure that the inspection area is sufficiently clean to do the inspection of the area.
   (2) If necessary, clean the inspection area with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) and a Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) .
   (3) Make sure that there is no TPS layer and if there is a TPS layer, remove it (Ref. AMM TASK 51-78-00-916-001).
4. Procedure
Subtask 57-53-00-280-053-C ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Inspection
   (1) Do a special detailed inspection of the front spar splices and the attachment areas of the outboard flap, internally and externally. Do this inspection for damage or discontinuities on the left and right sides, at track 3. Refer to NTM 575303.
   (2) Make a report of the damage after the NTM inspection:
     (a) Corrosion damage:
If you find corrosion, refer to the Structural Repair Manual (SRM 512200) for the corrosion types, inspection, removal and subsequent corrosion protection.
     (b) Other damage (scratches, cracks, gouges, dents, creases):
If you find this type of damage, refer to the Structural Repair Manual (SRM 511100) for the damage types, classification and corrective action.
     (c) All other damage:
If you find other damage not in the list, refer to the Structural Repair Manual (SRM 575300) for the damage types, classification and corrective action.
If the damage is not included in this repair, contact AIRBUS.
5. Close-up
Subtask 57-53-00-410-053-C ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Close Access
   (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (2) Use Adhesive Film Tape-- Aluminium Foil - (Material No.05RAB9) cut to the correct dimensions, to make new covers for the inspection holes.
   (3) Install the new cover(s) on the applicable inspection hole(s).
   (4) Install the flap track 3 fairing 532CB ( 632CB) and the access panel 532AT ( 632AT) (Ref. AMM TASK 57-55-11-400-001).

B. Remove the safety clip(s) and the tag(s) and close this(these) circuit breaker(s):

   (2) Remove the access platform(s).
   (3) Remove the safety barriers.
