(1) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) on the flap/slat control lever (panel 114VU) to tell persons not to operate the flaps.
(2) As necessary, use the applicable SAFETY BARRIERS, specified by the operator's instructions and your local regulations.

B. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration

WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT THE TRAVEL RANGES OF THE FLIGHT CONTROLS SURFACES ARE CLEAR. MOVEMENT OF FLIGHT CONTROLS CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS AND/OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.

(1) Fully extend the flaps (Ref. AMM TASK 27-50-00-866-008).
(2) Make sure that the 98D27803000000 LOCKING TOOL-FLAP SLAT LEVER,INT. POSITION is installed on the flap/slat control lever on the panel 114VU.

(1) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT)- ADJUSTABLE in position below the flap track 3 at zone 532(632).
(2) Remove the applicable flap track fairings (Ref. AMM TASK 57-55-11-000-004):

for the left wing, remove 532AT 532CB
for the right wing, remove 632AT 632CB.

(3) Remove the applicable access panel in the bottom skin at track 3:

for the left wing, remove 587AB
for the right wing, remove 687AB.

(4) Put the LIGHT SOURCE - SPARK-PROOF adjacent to the inspection area.

D. Get Access
(1) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT)- ADJUSTABLE in position below the flap track 3 at zone 532(632).
(2) Remove the applicable flap track fairings (Ref. AMM TASK 57-55-11-000-004):

for the left wing, remove 532AT 532CB
for the right wing, remove 632AT 632CB.

(3) Put the LIGHT SOURCE - SPARK-PROOF adjacent to the inspection area.

E. Preparation for Inspection

CAUTION: BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU DO MAINTENANCE TASKS ON THE WING TRAILING EDGE:

DO NOT CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE ELECTRICAL CABLE RACEWAYS.
DO NOT CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE ELECTRICAL CABLE INSTALLATIONS.
MAKE SURE THAT THE ELECTRICAL CABLES ARE INSTALLED CORRECTLY. INCORRECT INSTALLATION CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.

(1) Make sure that the inspection area is sufficiently clean to do the inspection of the area.
(2) Use a clean Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) , made moist with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) to clean:

the support fitting
the attachment bracket
the attachment structure
the internal support structure.

(3) Make sure that there is no TPS layer and if there is a TPS layer, remove it (Ref. AMM TASK 51-78-00-916-001).

4. Procedure
Subtask 57-53-00-210-071-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL

A. Detailed Inspection of Outboard Double-Slotted Flap, Internal Support fitting at Track 3, Including Attachment Bracket, Drive Bracket and Attachment Structure, Internal and External, LH/RH
(1) Do an inspection of the support fitting, the attachment bracket and the attachment structure. Make sure that:

there is no damage
there is no corrosion
there are no cracks or scores
the support fitting, attachment bracket and drive bracket are installed correctly
the surface protection is in the correct condition.

(2) Do an inspection of the internal support structure where it can be seen. Make sure that:

there is no damage
there is no corrosion
there are no cracks or scores
the support fitting, attachment bracket and drive bracket are installed correctly
the surface protection is the correct condition.

NOTE: If necessary, refer to the SRM 575300 for the correct repair procedure.

5. Close-up
Subtask 57-53-00-410-075-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL

A. Close Access
(1) Remove the spark-proof lamp from the inspection area.
(2) Install the applicable access panel in the bottom skin at track 3:

for the left wing, install 587AB
for the right wing, install 687AB.

(3) Install the applicable flap track fairings (Ref. AMM TASK 57-55-11-400-004):

for the left wing, install 532AT 532CB
for the right wing, install 632AT 632CB.

(4) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.

A. Close Access
(1) Remove the spark-proof lamp from the inspection area.
