WARNING:
MAKE SURE THAT THE FLIGHT CONTROL SAFETY-LOCKS AND THE WARNING NOTICES ARE IN POSITION.
WARNING:
MAKE SURE THAT THE GROUND SAFETY-LOCKS ARE IN POSITION ON THE LANDING GEAR. THIS WILL PREVENT UNWANTED MOVEMENT OF THE LANDING GEAR, AND THUS POSSIBLE INJURY TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT AND/OR EQUIPMENT.
CAUTION:
BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU DO MAINTENANCE TASKS ON THE WING TRAILING EDGE:
1. Reason for the Job- DO NOT CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE ELECTRICAL CABLE RACEWAYS.
- DO NOT CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE ELECTRICAL CABLE INSTALLATIONS.
- MAKE SURE THAT THE ELECTRICAL CABLES ARE INSTALLED CORRECTLY. INCORRECT INSTALLATION CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.

(1) Make sure that the safety barriers are in position.
(2) Make sure that the 98D27803500001 LOCKING TOOL ZERO POS is on the flap/slat control lever.
(3) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) are in position to tell persons not to operate the flap/slat system.
Subtask 57-52-21-865-052-A (1) Make sure that the safety barriers are in position.

C. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT) is below the applicable inboard flap, at zone 531(631).
(2) Make sure that the applicable inboard flap is removed (Ref. AMM TASK 27-54-61-000-001).
Subtask 57-52-21-860-051-B ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT) is below the applicable inboard flap, at zone 531(631).
(2) Make sure that the applicable inboard flap is removed (Ref. AMM TASK 27-54-61-000-001).
C. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT) is below the applicable inboard flap, at zone 531(631).
(2) Make sure that the applicable inboard flap is removed (Ref. AMM TASK 27-54-61-000-003).
4. Procedure(1) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT) is below the applicable inboard flap, at zone 531(631).

Subtask 57-52-21-420-052-A
A. Preparation for Installation.
(1) Clean the component interfaces and the adjacent areas with a Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) made moist with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) .
(2) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
(3) Make sure that the parts retained from the removed component are clean and in the correct condition.
Subtask 57-52-21-420-053-B ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Clean the component interfaces and the adjacent areas with a Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) made moist with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) .
(2) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
(3) Make sure that the parts retained from the removed component are clean and in the correct condition.
B. Installation of the Flap Attachment Bearing
(1) If bearing part number D5757010500000 is to be installed, continue as follows:
(a) Apply Non Hardening Jointing Putty-Medium Temp. Area - - (Material No.06LCG9) to the mating surfaces of the new AIPC 57-52-21-04-300 SPHERICAL BEARING (8) and the flap structure (9).
(b) Make sure that the Non Hardening Jointing Putty-Medium Temp. Area - - (Material No.06LCG9) does not touch the internal surfaces of the spherical bearing (8).
(c) Install the spherical bearing (8) in the flap structure (9).
(d) Apply Dry lubricant-Anti Seizing PTFE Loaded - (Material No.03QDB1) to the parts that follow:
(f) Apply Polysulfide Sealant-Fuel Tank Fillet - (Material No.06ABB1) to the mating face of the locking device (5).
(g) Put the locking device (5) in position on the spherical bearing (8). If necessary, adjust the position of the spherical bearing (8) so that the locking device (5) engages correctly.
(h) Install the new AIPC 57-52-21-04-280 TAB-WASHERS (6) on the bolts (7).
(i) Install the bolts (7), the washers (4) and the nuts (10).
(j) TORQUE the nuts (10) to between 0.40 and 0.35 m.daN (35.40 and 30.97 lbf.in )
(k) Install and safety the new AIPC 57-52-21-04-240 COTTER PINS (3).
(l) Safety the tab-washers (6).
(m) Apply Polysulfide Sealant-Fuel Tank Fillet - (Material No.06ABB1) to the parts that follow:

(p) Do a no-load Breakaway Torque of the spherical bearing (8) to 0.75 m.daN (66.37 lbf.in) maximum.
(q) Apply Polysulfide Sealant-Fuel Tank Fillet - (Material No.06ABB1) to the the parts that follow:
(2) If bearing part number D5757010500251 is to be installed, continue as follows:
(a) Apply Non Hardening Jointing Putty-Medium Temp. Area - - (Material No.06LCG9) to the mating surfaces of the new AIPC 57-52-21-04-300 SPHERICAL BEARING (7).
(b) Make sure that the Non Hardening Jointing Putty-Medium Temp. Area - - (Material No.06LCG9) does not touch the internal surfaces of the spherical bearing (7).
(c) Install the spherical bearing (7) in the flap structure (8).
(d) Apply Dry lubricant-Anti Seizing PTFE Loaded - (Material No.03QDB1) to the parts that follow:
(f) Apply Polysulfide Sealant-Fuel Tank Fillet - (Material No.06ABB1) to the mating face of the locking device (4).
(g) Put the locking device (4) in position on the spherical bearing (7). If necessary, adjust the position of the spherical bearing (7) so that the locking device (4) engages correctly.
(h) Install the washers (5) on the bolts (6).
(i) Install the bolts (6), the washers (3) and the nuts (9).
(j) TORQUE the nuts (9) to between 0.40 and 0.35 m.daN (35.40 and 30.97 lbf.in )
(k) Apply Polysulfide Sealant-Fuel Tank Fillet - (Material No.06ABB1) to the parts that follow:

(n) Do a no-load Breakaway Torque of the spherical bearing (7) to 0.75 m.daN (66.37 lbf.in) maximum.
(o) Apply Polysulfide Sealant-Fuel Tank Fillet - (Material No.06ABB1) to the the parts that follow:
(3) If bearing part number F5757111320000 is to be installed, continue as follows:
(a) Apply Non Hardening Jointing Putty-Medium Temp. Area - - (Material No.06LCG9) to the mating surfaces of the new AIPC 57-52-21-04-430 SPHERICAL BEARING (6).
(b) Make sure that the Non Hardening Jointing Putty-Medium Temp. Area - - (Material No.06LCG9) does not touch the internal surfaces of the spherical bearing (6).
(c) Install the spherical bearing (6) in the flap structure (7). Make sure that the slot in the spherical bearing (6) is at the top.
(d) Apply Dry lubricant-Anti Seizing PTFE Loaded - (Material No.03QDB1) to:
(f) Apply Polysulfide Sealant-Fuel Tank Fillet - (Material No.06ABB1) to the mating face of the locking device (5).
(g) Put the locking device (5) in position on the spherical bearing (6). If necessary, adjust the position of the spherical bearing (6) so that the locking device (5) engages correctly.
(h) Install the washer (3) on the bolt (4).
(i) Install the bolt (4), the washers (2) and (3) and the nut (1).
(j) TORQUE the nut (1) to between 0.40 and 0.35 m.daN (35.40 and 30.97 lbf.in )
(k) Apply Polysulfide Sealant-Fuel Tank Fillet - (Material No.06ABB1) to:

(n) Do a no-load Breakaway Torque of the spherical bearing (6), to 0.75 m.daN (66.37 lbf.in) maximum.
(o) Apply Polysulfide Sealant-Fuel Tank Fillet - (Material No.06ABB1) to:
Subtask 57-52-21-410-051-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) If bearing part number D5757010500000 is to be installed, continue as follows:
(a) Apply Non Hardening Jointing Putty-Medium Temp. Area - - (Material No.06LCG9) to the mating surfaces of the new AIPC 57-52-21-04-300 SPHERICAL BEARING (8) and the flap structure (9).
(b) Make sure that the Non Hardening Jointing Putty-Medium Temp. Area - - (Material No.06LCG9) does not touch the internal surfaces of the spherical bearing (8).
(c) Install the spherical bearing (8) in the flap structure (9).
(d) Apply Dry lubricant-Anti Seizing PTFE Loaded - (Material No.03QDB1) to the parts that follow:
- The threads of the locknut (1)
- The mating surfaces of the locknut (1) and the lockwasher (2).
(f) Apply Polysulfide Sealant-Fuel Tank Fillet - (Material No.06ABB1) to the mating face of the locking device (5).
(g) Put the locking device (5) in position on the spherical bearing (8). If necessary, adjust the position of the spherical bearing (8) so that the locking device (5) engages correctly.
(h) Install the new AIPC 57-52-21-04-280 TAB-WASHERS (6) on the bolts (7).
(i) Install the bolts (7), the washers (4) and the nuts (10).
(j) TORQUE the nuts (10) to between 0.40 and 0.35 m.daN (35.40 and 30.97 lbf.in )

(k) Install and safety the new AIPC 57-52-21-04-240 COTTER PINS (3).
(l) Safety the tab-washers (6).
(m) Apply Polysulfide Sealant-Fuel Tank Fillet - (Material No.06ABB1) to the parts that follow:
- The bolts (7)
- The tab-washers (6)
- The washers (4)
- The nuts (10).
. NOTE: The 98D27507541000 WRENCH - BEARING, FLAP TO CARRIAGE, TRACK 2, 3 AND 4 can be used as an alternative tool for this task.
(o) Safety the locknut (1) with the lockwasher (2). (p) Do a no-load Breakaway Torque of the spherical bearing (8) to 0.75 m.daN (66.37 lbf.in) maximum.
(q) Apply Polysulfide Sealant-Fuel Tank Fillet - (Material No.06ABB1) to the the parts that follow:
- The lock nut (1)
- The lockwasher (2)
- The interface of the spherical bearing (8) and the flap structure (9)
- The locking device (5).
(2) If bearing part number D5757010500251 is to be installed, continue as follows:
(a) Apply Non Hardening Jointing Putty-Medium Temp. Area - - (Material No.06LCG9) to the mating surfaces of the new AIPC 57-52-21-04-300 SPHERICAL BEARING (7).
(b) Make sure that the Non Hardening Jointing Putty-Medium Temp. Area - - (Material No.06LCG9) does not touch the internal surfaces of the spherical bearing (7).
(c) Install the spherical bearing (7) in the flap structure (8).
(d) Apply Dry lubricant-Anti Seizing PTFE Loaded - (Material No.03QDB1) to the parts that follow:
- The threads of the locknut (1)
- The mating surfaces of the locknut (1) and the lockwasher (2).
(f) Apply Polysulfide Sealant-Fuel Tank Fillet - (Material No.06ABB1) to the mating face of the locking device (4).
(g) Put the locking device (4) in position on the spherical bearing (7). If necessary, adjust the position of the spherical bearing (7) so that the locking device (4) engages correctly.
(h) Install the washers (5) on the bolts (6).
(i) Install the bolts (6), the washers (3) and the nuts (9).
(j) TORQUE the nuts (9) to between 0.40 and 0.35 m.daN (35.40 and 30.97 lbf.in )

(k) Apply Polysulfide Sealant-Fuel Tank Fillet - (Material No.06ABB1) to the parts that follow:
- The bolts (6)
- The washers (3) and (5)
- The nuts (9).
. NOTE: The 98D27507541000 WRENCH - BEARING, FLAP TO CARRIAGE, TRACK 2, 3 AND 4 can be used as an alternative tool for this task.
(m) Safety the locknut (1) with the lockwasher (2). (n) Do a no-load Breakaway Torque of the spherical bearing (7) to 0.75 m.daN (66.37 lbf.in) maximum.
(o) Apply Polysulfide Sealant-Fuel Tank Fillet - (Material No.06ABB1) to the the parts that follow:
- The lock nut (1)

- The locking device (4).
(3) If bearing part number F5757111320000 is to be installed, continue as follows:
(a) Apply Non Hardening Jointing Putty-Medium Temp. Area - - (Material No.06LCG9) to the mating surfaces of the new AIPC 57-52-21-04-430 SPHERICAL BEARING (6).
(b) Make sure that the Non Hardening Jointing Putty-Medium Temp. Area - - (Material No.06LCG9) does not touch the internal surfaces of the spherical bearing (6).
(c) Install the spherical bearing (6) in the flap structure (7). Make sure that the slot in the spherical bearing (6) is at the top.
(d) Apply Dry lubricant-Anti Seizing PTFE Loaded - (Material No.03QDB1) to:
- The external threads of the spherical bearing (6)
- The threads of the locknut (9)
- The mating surfaces of the locknut (9) and the lockwasher (8).
(f) Apply Polysulfide Sealant-Fuel Tank Fillet - (Material No.06ABB1) to the mating face of the locking device (5).
(g) Put the locking device (5) in position on the spherical bearing (6). If necessary, adjust the position of the spherical bearing (6) so that the locking device (5) engages correctly.
(h) Install the washer (3) on the bolt (4).
(i) Install the bolt (4), the washers (2) and (3) and the nut (1).
(j) TORQUE the nut (1) to between 0.40 and 0.35 m.daN (35.40 and 30.97 lbf.in )

(k) Apply Polysulfide Sealant-Fuel Tank Fillet - (Material No.06ABB1) to:
- The bolt (4)
- The washers (2) and (3)
- The nut (1).
. NOTE: The 98D27507541000 WRENCH - BEARING, FLAP TO CARRIAGE, TRACK 2, 3 AND 4 can be used as an alternative tool for this task.
(m) Safety the locknut (9) with the lockwasher (8). (n) Do a no-load Breakaway Torque of the spherical bearing (6), to 0.75 m.daN (66.37 lbf.in) maximum.
(o) Apply Polysulfide Sealant-Fuel Tank Fillet - (Material No.06ABB1) to:
- The locknut (9)
- The lockwasher (8)
- The interface of the spherical bearing (5) and the flap structure (7)
- The locking device (5).
C. Close Access
(1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) Install the inboard flap (Ref. AMM TASK 27-54-61-400-001).

D. Installation of the Flap Attachment Bearing
(1) Apply Non Hardening Jointing Putty-Medium Temp. Area - - (Material No.06LCG9) to the external surface of the new AIPC 57-52-23-02-160 SPHERICAL BEARING (7) and the flap structure (3).
(2) Make sure that the Non Hardening Jointing Putty-Medium Temp. Area - - (Material No.06LCG9) does not touch the internal surfaces of the spherical bearing (7).
(3) Install the spherical bearing (7) in the flap structure (3).
(4) Apply Dry lubricant-Anti Seizing PTFE Loaded - (Material No.03QDB1) to the parts that follow:
(6) Put the locking device (8) in position on the spherical bearing (7). If necessary , adjust the position of the spherical bearing (7) so that the locking device (8) engages correctly.
(7) Apply Non Hardening Jointing Putty-Medium Temp. Area - - (Material No.06LCG9) to the bolts (4).
(8) Install the bolts (4), the washers (2) and the nuts (9).
(9) TORQUE the nuts (9) to between 0.35 and 0.3 m.daN (30.97 and 26.55 lbf.in )

(10) Install and safety the new AIPC 57-52-23-02-110 COTTER PINS (1).
(11) Use the 98D57004050000 SPANNER FLAP TRACK 2 AND 3 BEARING to torque the locknut (5) to between 12.0 and 10.0 m.daN (88.50 and 73.75 lbf.ft )

(12) Safety the locknut (5) with the lockwasher (6).
(13) Do a no-load Breakaway Torque of the spherical bearing (7) to 0.75 m.daN (66.37 lbf.in) maximum.
(14) Apply Polysulfide Sealant-Fuel Tank Fillet - (Material No.06ABB1) to the parts that follow:
Subtask 57-52-21-410-051-B ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Apply Non Hardening Jointing Putty-Medium Temp. Area - - (Material No.06LCG9) to the external surface of the new AIPC 57-52-23-02-160 SPHERICAL BEARING (7) and the flap structure (3).
(2) Make sure that the Non Hardening Jointing Putty-Medium Temp. Area - - (Material No.06LCG9) does not touch the internal surfaces of the spherical bearing (7).
(3) Install the spherical bearing (7) in the flap structure (3).
(4) Apply Dry lubricant-Anti Seizing PTFE Loaded - (Material No.03QDB1) to the parts that follow:
- the thread of the locknut (5)
- the mating surfaces of the locknut (5) and the lockwasher (6).
(6) Put the locking device (8) in position on the spherical bearing (7). If necessary , adjust the position of the spherical bearing (7) so that the locking device (8) engages correctly.
(7) Apply Non Hardening Jointing Putty-Medium Temp. Area - - (Material No.06LCG9) to the bolts (4).
(8) Install the bolts (4), the washers (2) and the nuts (9).
(9) TORQUE the nuts (9) to between 0.35 and 0.3 m.daN (30.97 and 26.55 lbf.in )
. (10) Install and safety the new AIPC 57-52-23-02-110 COTTER PINS (1).
(11) Use the 98D57004050000 SPANNER FLAP TRACK 2 AND 3 BEARING to torque the locknut (5) to between 12.0 and 10.0 m.daN (88.50 and 73.75 lbf.ft )
. (12) Safety the locknut (5) with the lockwasher (6).
(13) Do a no-load Breakaway Torque of the spherical bearing (7) to 0.75 m.daN (66.37 lbf.in) maximum.
(14) Apply Polysulfide Sealant-Fuel Tank Fillet - (Material No.06ABB1) to the parts that follow:
- the locknut (5)
- the lockwasher (6)
- the locking device (8)
- the interface of the spherical bearing (7) and the flap structure (3).
E. Close Access
(1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) Install the inboard flap (Ref. AMM TASK 27-54-61-400-003).
