A. Safety Precautions
   (1) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) on the flap/slat control lever (panel 114VU) to tell persons not to operate the flaps.
   (2) As necessary, use the applicable SAFETY BARRIERS, specified by the operator's instructions and your local regulations.

B. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT THE TRAVEL RANGES OF THE FLIGHT CONTROLS SURFACES ARE CLEAR. MOVEMENT OF FLIGHT CONTROLS CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS AND/OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
   (1) Fully extend the flaps (Ref. AMM TASK 27-50-00-866-008).
   (2) Make sure that the 98D27803000000 LOCKING TOOL-FLAP SLAT LEVER,INT. POSITION is installed on the flap/slat control lever on the panel 114VU.

D. Get Access
   (1) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT)- ADJUSTABLE in position below the flap track 2 at zone 531(631).
   (2) Remove the applicable flap track fairings (Ref. AMM TASK 57-55-11-000-004):
   (3) Remove the flap kink-seals (Ref. AMM TASK 27-54-61-000-002).
   (4) Put the LIGHT SOURCE - SPARK-PROOF adjacent to the inspection area.
4. Procedure
CAUTION: BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU DO MAINTENANCE TASKS ON THE WING TRAILING EDGE:
  • DO NOT CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE ELECTRICAL CABLE RACEWAYS.
  • DO NOT CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE ELECTRICAL CABLE INSTALLATIONS.
  • MAKE SURE THAT THE ELECTRICAL CABLES ARE INSTALLED CORRECTLY. INCORRECT INSTALLATION CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.

A. Detailed Inspection of Inboard Double Slotted Flap, Flap to Carriage Attachment Bracket at Track 2, LH/RH
   (1) Do an inspection of the carriage attachment bracket. Make sure that:
  • there is no damage
  • there is no corrosion
  • there are no cracks or scores
  • the surface protection is in the correct condition
  • the attachment bolts are tight.
NOTE: If necessary, refer to the SRM 575200 for the correct repair procedure.
5. Close-up

A. Close Access
   (1) Install the flap kink-seals (Ref. AMM TASK 27-54-61-400-006).
   (2) Remove the spark-proof lamp from the inspection area.
   (3) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (4) Install the applicable flap track fairings (Ref. AMM TASK 57-55-11-400-004):
