Detailed Inspection of Flap Track No.1 Drive Lever Arm for Side Play
WARNING:
PUT THE SAFETY DEVICES AND THE WARNING NOTICES IN POSITION BEFORE YOU START A TASK ON OR NEAR:
- THE FLIGHT CONTROLS
- THE FLIGHT CONTROL SURFACES
- THE LANDING GEAR AND THE RELATED DOORS
- COMPONENTS THAT MOVE.
WARNING:
MAKE SURE THAT THE GROUND SAFETY-LOCKS ARE IN POSITION ON THE LANDING GEAR. THIS WILL PREVENT UNWANTED MOVEMENT OF THE LANDING GEAR, AND THUS POSSIBLE INJURY TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT AND/OR EQUIPMENT.
CAUTION:
BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU DO MAINTENANCE TASKS ON THE WING TRAILING EDGE:
1. Reason for the Job- DO NOT CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE ELECTRICAL CABLE RACEWAYS.
- DO NOT CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE ELECTRICAL CABLE INSTALLATIONS.
- MAKE SURE THAT THE ELECTRICAL CABLES ARE INSTALLED CORRECTLY. INCORRECT INSTALLATION CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.

B. Detailed Inspection of Flap Track No.1 Drive Lever Arm for Side Play
(1) Before you do the inspection, move the actuator lever to approximately the 20 deg. flap position.
(2) Inspect the actuator lever bushes for wear:
(a) Measure the sideplay of the actuator lever:
1 If dimension X is less than 2.40 mm (0.0945 in.) and there is no wear or corrosion of the actuator output-shaft splines, the actuator is in a serviceable condition.
2 If dimension X is between 2.40 mm (0.0945 in.) and 3.80 mm (0.1496 in.), do a detailed inspection of the actuator output-shaft splines for wear and corrosion:
a If no splines are worn or corroded, do this detailed inspection every 12000 flight cycles.
b If between one and five splines are worn or corroded, replace the actuator in less than 1000 flight cycles (Ref. AMM TASK 27-54-49-000-001) and (Ref. AMM TASK 27-54-49-400-001).
c If between six and ten splines are worn or corroded, replace the actuator in less than 500 flight cycles (Ref. AMM TASK 27-54-49-000-001) and (Ref. AMM TASK 27-54-49-400-001).
d If more than ten splines are worn or corroded and five or less have more than 50% corrosion, replace the actuator in less than 50 flight cycles.
e If more than five of these splines have more than 50% corrosion, refer to AIRBUS for instructions.
3 If dimension X is more than 3.80 mm (0.1496 in.), or the actuator output-shaft splines are more than 50% corroded, refer to AIRBUS for instructions.
