A. Safety Precautions
   (1) Make sure that the SAFETY BARRIER(S) are in position.
   (2) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) are in position to tell persons not to operate the flap or slat.

B. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT THE TRAVEL RANGES OF THE FLIGHT CONTROLS SURFACES ARE CLEAR. MOVEMENT OF FLIGHT CONTROLS CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS AND/OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
   (1) Make sure that the flaps are retracted fully (Ref. AMM TASK 27-50-00-866-009).
   (2) Make sure that the 98D27803500001 LOCKING TOOL ZERO POS is installed on the flap/slat control lever.
   (3) Make sure that the aircraft is electrically grounded (Ref. AMM TASK 12-34-24-869-002).
   (4) Make sure that the Green and the Blue Hydraulic systems are depressurized (Ref. AMM TASK 29-10-00-864-001) and (Ref. AMM TASK 29-10-00-864-003).
   (5) Make sure that the applicable hydraulic reservoir is depressurized (Ref. AMM TASK 29-14-00-614-001).
   (6) Make sure that the safety collars on the circuit breakers 9CV and 11CV are removed.
   (7) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 4M (13 FT)-ADJUSTABLE is in position below the applicable zone 575(675).
   (8) Make sure that the applicable access panels are removed:
     (a) For the left wing:
     (b) For the right wing:
   (9) Make sure that the applicable aileron is removed (Ref. AMM TASK 27-14-41-000-001).

4. Procedure
Subtask 57-51-31-420-053-A
A. Preparation for Installation
   (1) Use a Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) , made moist with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) to clean the bore of the support frame (1).
   (2) Make sure that the bore of the support frame (1) is not damaged.
NOTE: If there is damage in the bore, refer to the SRM 575136 for the correct repair procedure.
   (3) Make sure that the dimension of the bore of the support frame (1) is between 33.000 mm (1.2992 in.) and 33.025 mm (1.3002 in.).
   (4) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
   (5) Apply a layer of Surface Pretreatment-Light Alloys Chemical Conversion Yellow - (Material No.10ABC1) to the bore of the support frame (1).
   (6) Apply a layer of Polysulfide Sealant-Low Adhesion Brushable - (Material No.06AEA1) to the bore of the support frame (1).

B. Installation of the Aileron-Hinge Bushing Sleeve on the Support Frames 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5
NOTE: Use the applicable items from the ASK4102-10 TOOLKIT-BEARING SWAGING, to do this procedure.
   (1) Install a new aileron-hinge bushing sleeve (2) on the support frame (1) with the tool ASIR4102-10SI:
     (a) For Support Frame 1:
     (b) For Support Frame 2:
     (c) For Support Frame 3:
     (d) For Support Frame 4:
     (e) For Support Frame 5:
   (2) While you remove the tool, before the reaming procedure, make sure that:
  • The aileron-hinge bushing sleeve (2) does not move from its correct location.
   (3) Use a Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.
14SBA1) , made moist with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) :
  • To clean the excess Polysulfide Sealant-Low Adhesion Brushable - (Material No.06AEA1) from the aileron-hinge bushing sleeve (2).
   (4) Ream the aileron-hinge bushing sleeve (2):
     (a) Use sufficient Mineral base Lubricating Oil-General purpose Low Temp. - (Material No.03BBB1) to lubricate the 98D27104006000 REAMER SPECIAL:
  • To make sure that the hole has a standard surface finish without the signs of scoring and burrs.
     (b) Use a 98D27104006000 REAMER SPECIAL:
  • To ream the bore of the aileron-hinge bushing sleeve (2) to a diameter between 30.15 mm (1.1870 in.) and 30.17 mm (1.1878 in.).
     (c) Make sure the aileron-hinge bushing sleeve (2) does not move during the reaming procedure.
     (d) Remove all the swarf from the bore of the aileron-hinge bushing sleeve (2).
   (5) Make sure that the trailing edge of the wing is clean and clear of all the swarf.
   (6) Use a Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) , made moist with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) :
  • To clean the bore of the aileron-hinge bushing sleeve (2).

D. Swaging of the Aileron-Hinge Bushing Sleeve (2) on the Support Frames 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5
NOTE: Use the applicable items from the ASK4102-10 TOOLKIT-BEARING SWAGING, to do this procedure.
   (1) Use the tool ASU4102-10 for swaging of the aileron-hinge bushing sleeve (2).
     (a) Make sure the support frame (1) is not damaged during the swaging procedure.
     (b) Make sure the dimension X between the swaged end of the aileron-hinge bushing sleeve (2) and the support frame (1):
     (c) Make sure that the face of the locating ring marked as 'primary' is used during the first swage.
NOTE: The depth of the locating ring marked as 'primary' is different from the face marked as 'secondary'.
   (2) Apply a layer of Mineral base Lubricating Oil-General purpose Low Temp. - (Material No.03BBB1) on the swaged area to prevent pitting.
CAUTION: CONTINUOUSLY MONITOR THE SWAGING PROCEDURE TO MAKE SURE THAT THE ROLLER FIXTURE DOES NOT TOUCH THE SUPPORT FRAME. THIS WILL PREVENT DAMAGE TO THE SUPPORT FRAME.
   (3) Make sure that the aileron-hinge bushing sleeve (2) is correctly swaged.
   (4) Clean surface of the rollers on the roller fixture.
   (5) Apply a layer of Surface Pretreatment-Light Alloys Chemical Conversion Yellow - (Material No.10ABC1) to the swaged ends of the aileron-hinge bushing sleeves (2).

E. Close Access
   (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (2) Install the applicable aileron (Ref. AMM TASK 27-14-41-400-001).
   (3) Install the applicable access panels:
     (a) For the left wing, install:

F. Pressurize the Hydraulic Systems
WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT THE CONTROLS AGREE WITH THE POSITION OF THE ITEMS THEY OPERATE BEFORE YOU PRESSURIZE A HYDRAULIC SYSTEM. UNWANTED MOVEMENT OF HYDRAULICALLY OPERATED ITEMS CAN CAUSE SERIOUS INJURY AND/OR DAMAGE.
   (1) Pressurize the Green hydraulic system
(Ref. AMM TASK 29-10-00-863-001) or (Ref. AMM TASK 29-23-00-863-001).
   (2) Pressurize the Blue hydraulic system
(Ref. AMM TASK 29-10-00-863-003).

H. Operational Test
