3. Job Set-up
Subtask 57-51-00-941-091-A
A. Safety Precautions
   (1) As necessary, use the applicable SAFETY BARRIERS, specified by the operator's instructions and your local regulations.
   (2) Make sure that the safety devices are installed on the landing gear (Ref. AMM TASK 32-00-00-481-001).
   (3) Put the WARNING NOTICE(S) in position on the ground service connections to tell persons not to pressurize:
  • The Green hydraulic system
  • The Yellow hydraulic system.
   (4) In the cockpit, on panel 400VU:
  • Make sure that landing-gear control lever 6GA is in the DOWN position.
  • Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to operate the landing gears.
   (5) In the cockpit, on panel 110VU:
  • Put the WARNING NOTICE(S) on the GRAVITY GEAR EXTN handle to tell persons not to operate the landing-gear doors.
   (6) In the cockpit, on the flap/slat control lever:
  • Install the 98D27803500001 LOCKING TOOL ZERO POS.
  • Put the WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to operate the flaps or slats.

B. Get Access
   (1) Open the MLG doors (Ref. AMM TASK 32-12-00-010-001).
   (2) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT)- ADJUSTABLE in position below the applicable gear support rib, at zone 574 (674).
4. Procedure
Subtask 57-51-00-350-050-A
A. Repair of the Gear Support Rib without the Sealing Plug(s)

   (1) Do an inspection of the special bolts (1) and identify, if applicable, where the sealing plug(s) is (are) missing.
   (2) For the identified area:
     (a) Use Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) and Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) and clean the special bolt(s) (1) and the area around it (them).
     (b) Apply high-speed tape Adhesive Film Tape-- Aluminium Foil - (Material No.05RAB9) on the special bolt(s) (1).
       1 Refer to the Structural Repair Manual ( SRM 517712) for the surface preparation and high-speed tape application.
     (c) If the missing sealing plug(s) (2) is (are) not installed before 50 flight cycles.
       1 Refer to Structural Repair Manual ( SRM 517712) to do the inspection of the integrity of the high-speed tape.
5. Close-up

A. Close Access
   (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (2) Remove the access platform(s).
   (3) Close the MLG doors (Ref. AMM TASK 32-12-00-410-001).

B. Removal of Equipment
   (1) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
   (2) Remove the 98D27803500001 LOCKING TOOL ZERO POS from the flap/slat control lever.
   (3) Remove the SAFETY BARRIER(S).
   (4) Remove the ground support and maintenance equipment, the special and standard tools and all other items.
