  • DO NOT CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE ELECTRICAL CABLE INSTALLATIONS.
  • MAKE SURE THAT THE ELECTRICAL CABLES ARE INSTALLED CORRECTLY. INCORRECT INSTALLATION CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.

   (1) Install the 98D27803500001 LOCKING TOOL ZERO POS on the flap/slat control lever.
   (2) Put WARNING NOTICE(S) in the cockpit to tell persons not to operate the flaps or slats.
   (3) As necessary, use the applicable SAFETY BARRIERS, specified by the operator's instructions and your local regulations.

CAUTION: BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU DO MAINTENANCE TASKS ON THE WING TRAILING EDGE:
  • DO NOT CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE ELECTRICAL CABLE RACEWAYS.
  • DO NOT CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE ELECTRICAL CABLE INSTALLATIONS.
  • MAKE SURE THAT THE ELECTRICAL CABLES ARE INSTALLED CORRECTLY. INCORRECT INSTALLATION CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.

A. Preparation for Inspection
   (1) Use a Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) , made moist with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) to clean the hinge fittings.

B. Detailed Inspection of Outer Wing, Trailing Edge, Aileron Hinge Fittings 1 to 5 and 'A' Frames
   (1) Examine the aileron hinge fittings to make sure that:
  • there is no damage
  • there is no corrosion
  • there are no scratches and/or scores
  • the surface protection is in the correct condition.
   (2) Examine the aileron A-frames to make sure that:
  • there is no damage
  • there are no scratches and/or scores
  • there is no corrosion
  • the surface protection is in the correct condition.
NOTE: If necessary, refer to the SRM 575100 for the correct repair procedure.

   (5) Remove the ground support and maintenance equipment, the special and standard tools and all other items.
