A. Safety Precautions
   (1) Put WARNING NOTICE(S) in the cockpit to tell persons not to operate the flaps or slats.
   (2) As necessary, use the applicable SAFETY BARRIERS, specified by the operator's instructions and your local regulations.
   (3) Install the 98D27803500001 LOCKING TOOL ZERO POS on the flap/slat control lever.

C. Get Access
   (1) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT)- ADJUSTABLE below the applicable wing to get access to the:
  • Flap track 2 fairings, zone 531(631)
  • Flap tab hinge 1A fairing, zone 535(635).
   (2) Remove the applicable fairing access panels (Ref. AMM TASK 57-55-11-000-004) and (Ref. AMM TASK 57-55-11-000-005):
4. Procedure
Subtask 57-51-00-110-091-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Preparation for Inspection
   (1) Use a Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) , made moist with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) to clean:
  • The lower surface of the bottom skin in the area of the outer wing under the flap track 2 fairing.
Subtask 57-51-00-210-072-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
B. Inspection
   (1) Examine the lower surface of the bottom skin in the area of the outer wing:
  • Under the flap track 2 fairing
  • Under the flap tab drive 1A fairing.
   (2) Make sure that:
  • There is no damage
  • There is no corrosion
  • The surface protection is in the correct condition.
NOTE: If necessary, refer to the SRM 575100 for the correct repair procedure.

   (1) Install the applicable fairing access panels (Ref. AMM TASK 57-55-11-000-004) and (Ref. AMM TASK 57-55-11-000-005):

B. Remove the safety clip(s) and the tag(s) and close this(these) circuit breaker(s):

C. Removal of Equipment
   (1) Remove the 98D27803500001 LOCKING TOOL ZERO POS from the flap/slat control lever.
   (2) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (3) Remove the access platform(s).
   (4) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
   (5) Remove the safety barriers.
   (6) Remove the ground support and maintenance equipment, the special and standard tools and all other items.
