(2) As necessary, use the applicable SAFETY BARRIERS, specified by the operator's instructions and your local regulations.
(3) Make sure that the 98D27803500001 LOCKING TOOL ZERO POS is installed on the slat/flap control lever.

(1) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT) below the applicable slat 2, zone 512(612).
(2) Remove the No. 2 slat (Ref. AMM TASK 27-84-64-000-001).

4. Procedure

A. Removal of the Spherical Bearings of the No. 2 Slat
(1) Removal of the spherical bearing (5) at the position B
(a) Disengage the tab washer (4) from the nut (3).
(b) Remove and discard the nut (3) and the tab washer (4).
(c) Remove and discard the spherical bearing (5).
(2) Removal of the spherical bearing (8) at the position D
(a) Disengage the tab washer (7) from the nut (6).
(b) Remove and discard the nut (6) and the tab washer (7).
(c) Remove and discard the spherical bearing (8).
(3) Removal of the spherical bearing (9) at the position D
(a) Disengage the tab washer (1) from the nut (2).
(b) Remove and discard the nut (2) and the tab washer (1).
(c) Remove and discard the spherical bearing (9).
