A. Safety Precautions
   (1) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in the cockpit to tell persons not to operate the flaps or slats.
   (2) As necessary, use the applicable SAFETY BARRIERS, specified by the operator's instructions and your local regulations.

B. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT THE TRAVEL RANGES OF THE FLIGHT CONTROLS SURFACES ARE CLEAR. MOVEMENT OF FLIGHT CONTROLS CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS AND/OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
   (1) Fully extend the slats (Ref. AMM TASK 27-80-00-866-004).
   (2) Make sure that the 98D27803000000 LOCKING TOOL-FLAP SLAT LEVER,INT. POSITION is installed on the flap/slat control lever (Ref. AMM TASK 27-00-00-480-002).
   (3) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT)- ADJUSTABLE below the applicable wing leading edge at slat 2, zone 522(622).

D. Preparation for Inspection
   (1) Make sure that the inspection area is sufficiently clean to do the inspection of the area.
   (2) Use a Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) , made moist with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) to clean the applicable inspection area.
   (3) Make sure that there is no TPS layer and if there is a TPS layer, remove it (Ref. AMM TASK 51-78-00-916-001).
4. Procedure

A. Special Detailed Inspection (Endoscope) of Slat 2, Skin Connections in Area of Lower Girder at Track RIB Stations, LH/RH
   (1) Do a special detailed inspection of the applicable inspection area NTM 574304.
NOTE: If necessary refer to the SRM 574000 for the correct repair procedure. If the defect is not included in this repair, you must request a procedure from AIRBUS.

B. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
   (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (2) Remove the access platform(s).
   (3) Remove the 98D27803000000 LOCKING TOOL-FLAP SLAT LEVER,INT. POSITION from the flap/slat control lever (Ref. AMM TASK 27-00-00-080-002).
   (4) Fully retract the slats (Ref. AMM TASK 27-80-00-866-005).

C. Removal of Equipment
   (1) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
   (2) Remove the safety barriers.
   (3) Remove the ground support and maintenance equipment, the special and standard tools and all other items.
