A. Safety Precautions
(1) Make sure that the 98D27803500001 LOCKING TOOL ZERO POS is installed on the flap/slat control lever.
(2) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) are in position in the cockpit to tell persons not to operate the flaps or slats.
(3) Make sure that the safety barriers are in position.
Subtask 57-41-33-860-050-A (1) Make sure that the 98D27803500001 LOCKING TOOL ZERO POS is installed on the flap/slat control lever.
(2) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) are in position in the cockpit to tell persons not to operate the flaps or slats.
(3) Make sure that the safety barriers are in position.
B. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 4M (13 FT) is in position below the applicable wing inboard and outboard leading edge, zones 521 (621) or 522 (622).
(2) Make sure that the applicable slats have been removed:

- for the rollers at slat tracks 1, 2, 3 and/or 4, remove the slat No. 1 (Ref. AMM TASK 27-84-63-000-001)
- for the rollers at slat tracks 5 and/or 6, remove the slat No. 2 (Ref. AMM TASK 27-84-64-000-001)
- for the rollers at slat tracks 7 and/or 8, remove the slat No. 3 (Ref. AMM TASK 27-84-65-000-001)
- for the rollers at slat tracks 9 and/or 10, remove the slat No. 4 (Ref. AMM TASK 27-84-66-000-001)
- for the rollers at slat tracks 11 and/or 12, remove the slat No. 5 (Ref. AMM TASK 27-84-67-000-001).

Subtask 57-41-33-420-054-A
A. Preparation for Installation
(1) Use a Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) , made moist with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) to clean the component interface and/or the adjacent area.
(2) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
(3) Make sure that the parts retained from the removed component are clean and in the correct condition.
(4) If necessary, install the applicable greaser in the applicable pin.
(5) Lubricate the applicable greaser with Synthetic Oil base Grease-General Purpose Lithium Thickened - (Material No.03GBD1) or Synthetic Oil base Grease-General Purpose Lithium Thickened Low Temp. - (Material No.03GBC1) until the used grease comes out of the hole in the pin(s).
(6) Remove all unwanted grease with a clean TISSUE PAPER.

(a) Install the bottom vertical-load rollers (49) as follows:
1 Apply a thin layer of Synthetic Oil base Grease-General Purpose Lithium Thickened Low Temp. - (Material No.03GBC1) or Synthetic Oil base Grease-General Purpose Lithium Thickened - (Material No.03GBD1) on the pins (34).
2 Put the bottom vertical-load rollers (49) in position on the structure and install the pins (34).
3 Install the washers (35) and the nuts (48).
4 TORQUE the nuts (48) to between 1.05 and 0.75 m.daN (92.92 and 66.37 lbf.in )

5 Safety the nuts (48):
(b) Install the top vertical-load rollers (3) as follows:
1 Apply a thin layer of Synthetic Oil base Grease-General Purpose Lithium Thickened Low Temp. - (Material No.03GBC1) or Synthetic Oil base Grease-General Purpose Lithium Thickened - (Material No.03GBD1) on the pins (1).
2 Put the top vertical-load rollers (3) in position and install the pins (1).
3 Make sure that the pins (1) are correctly engaged in the eccentric bushes.
4 Install the nuts (4).
5 TORQUE the nuts (4) to between 1.05 and 0.75 m.daN (92.92 and 66.37 lbf.in )

2 Put the bottom vertical-load rollers (49) in position on the structure and install the pins (34).
3 Install the washers (35) and the nuts (48) and (62).
4 TORQUE the nut (48) to between 3.20 and 3.00 m.daN (23.60 and 22.12 lbf.ft )

5 TORQUE the nut (62) to between 1.05 and 0.75 m.daN (92.92 and 66.37 lbf.in )

6 Safety the nuts (48) and (62):
b Safety the nut (62) with the new AIPC 57-41-05-02-110 COTTER PIN (51) or the new AIPC 57-41-85-02-065 COTTER PIN (51).
(b) Install the top vertical-load rollers (3) as follows:
1 Apply a thin layer of Synthetic Oil base Grease-General Purpose Lithium Thickened Low Temp. - (Material No.03GBC1) or Synthetic Oil base Grease-General Purpose Lithium Thickened - (Material No.03GBD1) on the pins (1).
2 Put the top vertical-load rollers (3) in position and install the pins (1).
3 Make sure that the pins (1) are correctly engaged in the eccentric bushes.
4 Install the nuts (4).
5 TORQUE the nuts (4) to between 1.05 and 0.75 m.daN (92.92 and 66.37 lbf.in )

b Safety the nut (63) with the new AIPC 57-41-05-04-110 COTTER PIN (52) or the new AIPC 57-41-85-04-065 COTTER PIN (52).
(b) Install the top vertical-load rollers (3) as follows:

(a) Install the bottom vertical-load rollers (49) as follows:
1 Apply a thin layer of Synthetic Oil base Grease-General Purpose Lithium Thickened Low Temp. - (Material No.03GBC1) or Synthetic Oil base Grease-General Purpose Lithium Thickened - (Material No.03GBD1) on the pins (34).
2 Put the bottom vertical-load rollers (49) in position on the structure and install the pins (34).
3 Install the washers (35) and the nuts (48).
4 TORQUE the nuts (48) to between 1.05 and 0.75 m.daN (92.92 and 66.37 lbf.in )

1 Apply a thin layer of Synthetic Oil base Grease-General Purpose Lithium Thickened Low Temp. - (Material No.03GBC1) or Synthetic Oil base Grease-General Purpose Lithium Thickened - (Material No.03GBD1) on the pin (1).
2 Put the top vertical-load roller (3) in position and install the pin (1).
3 Make sure that the pin (1) is correctly engaged in the eccentric bushes.
4 Install the nut (4).
5 TORQUE the nut (4) to between 1.05 and 0.75 m.daN (92.92 and 66.37 lbf.in )

(1) Lubricate the applicable rollers with Synthetic Oil base Grease-General Purpose Lithium Thickened - (Material No.03GBD1) or Synthetic Oil base Grease-General Purpose Lithium Thickened Low Temp. - (Material No.03GBC1) .
(2) Make sure that the rollers that you installed operate without play.
(3) Remove all unwanted grease with a clean TISSUE PAPER.
5. Close-up(1) Lubricate the applicable rollers with Synthetic Oil base Grease-General Purpose Lithium Thickened - (Material No.03GBD1) or Synthetic Oil base Grease-General Purpose Lithium Thickened Low Temp. - (Material No.03GBC1) .
(2) Make sure that the rollers that you installed operate without play.
(3) Remove all unwanted grease with a clean TISSUE PAPER.

- For the rollers at slat tracks 1, 2, 3, and/or 4, install slat No. 1 (Ref. AMM TASK 27-84-63-400-002).
- For the rollers at slat tracks 5 and/or 6, install slat No. 2 (Ref. AMM TASK 27-84-64-400-002).
- For the rollers at slat tracks 7 and/or 8, install slat No. 3 (Ref. AMM TASK 27-84-65-400-002).
- For the rollers at slat tracks 9 and/or 10, install slat No. 4 (Ref. AMM TASK 27-84-66-400-002).
- For the rollers at slat tracks 11 and/or 12, install slat No. 5 (Ref. AMM TASK 27-84-67-400-002).
B. Remove the safety clip(s) and the tag(s) and close this(these) circuit breaker(s):

(4) Remove the ground support and maintenance equipment, the special and standard tools and all other items.
