   (2) As necessary, use the applicable SAFETY BARRIERS, specified by the operator's instructions and your local regulations.

   (1) Fully extend the slats (Ref. AMM TASK 27-80-00-866-004).
   (2) Make sure that the 98D27803000000 LOCKING TOOL-FLAP SLAT LEVER,INT. POSITION is installed on the flap/slat control lever.

   (2) Remove the applicable access panels (Ref. AMM TASK 57-41-37-000-004) and (Ref. AMM TASK 57-41-37-000-006):

   (1) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 5M (16 FT)- ADJUSTABLE in position below the applicable wing leading edge at zones 521(621) and 522(622).
   (2) Remove the applicable access panels (Ref. AMM TASK 57-41-37-000-004) and (Ref. AMM TASK 57-41-37-000-006):

A. Preparation for Inspection
   (1) Use a Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) , made moist with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) to clean the upper and lower surfaces of:
  • the bottom-attachment joint of the track ribs 1 thru 12.

B. Inspection
   (1) Examine the upper and lower surfaces of the bottom-attachment joint area of the track ribs 1 thru 12. Make sure that:
  • there is no corrosion
  • there are no cracks
  • there is no distortion
  • there are no loose or damaged fasteners
  • the surface protection is in the correct condition.
NOTE: If necessary, refer to the ASRM SRM 574000 for the correct repair procedure.

   (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
