A. Safety Precautions
WARNING: OBEY THE FUEL SAFETY PROCEDURES.
   (1) Obey the fuel safety procedures (Ref. AMM TASK 28-00-00-910-001).
   (2) As necessary, use the applicable SAFETY BARRIERS, specified by the operator's instructions and your local regulations.
   (3) Install the 98D27803500001 LOCKING TOOL ZERO POS on the flap/slat control lever.
   (4) Put WARNING NOTICE(S) in the cockpit to tell persons not to operate the flaps or slats.
   (5) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 4M (13 FT)-ADJUSTABLE in position below the applicable holes in the wing bottom skin, zone 540/640.

A. Preparation for Inspection
   (1) Use a Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) , made moist with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) to clean:
  • The wing bottom skin around the fuel tank water-drain-holes
  • The magnetic level indicators and the hole edges.

B. Inspection
F Fuel Tank Water Drain Hole in the Outer Wing Bottom Skin ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
   (1) Examine the fuel tank water drain hole in the wing bottom skin between RIB 22 and 23.
Make sure that:
  • There is no damage
  • The edges are not corroded
  • The surface finish of the edges is in good condition
  • There are no signs of fuel leakages.
NOTE: If necessary, refer to the SRM 572100 for the correct repair procedure.
   (2) Examine the magnetic level indicator between RIB 15 and 16.

Make sure that:
  • The hole edges are not damaged
  • The sight collar is in good condition
  • The surface finish of the hole edges is in the correct condition
  • There is no fuel leakage
  • There is no corrosion.
NOTE: If necessary, refer to the SRM 572100 for the correct repair procedure.

C. Preparation for Inspection

   (1) Examine the fuel tank water-drain-hole in the wing bottom skin between RIB 22 and 23.

  • There is no damage
  • The edges are not corroded
  • The surface finish of the edges is in good condition
  • There are no signs of fuel leakages.
NOTE: If necessary, refer to the SRM 572100 for the correct repair procedure.
