DETAILED INSPECTION OF OUTER WING, BOTTOM SKIN LOWER SURFACE AT FUEL TANK WATER DRAIN HOLES BETWEEN RIB 15-16 AND RIB 22-23.

A. Safety Precautions
WARNING: OBEY THE FUEL SAFETY PROCEDURES.
   (1) Obey the fuel safety procedures (Ref. AMM TASK 28-00-00-910-001).
   (2) As necessary, use the applicable SAFETY BARRIERS, specified by the operator's instructions and your local regulations.
   (3) Install the 98D27803500001 LOCKING TOOL ZERO POS on the flap/slat control lever.
   (4) Put WARNING NOTICE(S) in the cockpit to tell persons not to operate the flaps or slats.
   (5) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 4M (13 FT)-ADJUSTABLE in position below the applicable holes in the wing bottom skin, zone 540/640.

4. Procedure
Subtask 57-41-00-110-059-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Preparation for Inspection
   (1) Use a Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) , made moist with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) to clean the wing bottom skin around the fuel tank water drain holes.
Subtask 57-41-00-210-054-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
B. Inspection
   (1) Examine the fuel tank water drain holes in the wing bottom skin between RIBS 15-16 and 22-23.
Make sure that:
  • there is no damage
  • the edges are not corroded
  • the surface finish of the edges is in good condition
  • there are no signs of fuel leakages.
NOTE: If necessary, refer to the SRM 572100 for the correct repair procedure.
