A. Safety Precautions
WARNING: OBEY THE FUEL SAFETY PROCEDURES.
   (1) Obey the fuel safety procedures (Ref. AMM TASK 28-00-00-910-001).
   (2) As necessary, use the applicable SAFETY BARRIERS, specified by the operator's instructions and your local regulations.
   (3) Install the 98D27803500001 LOCKING TOOL ZERO POS on the flap/slat control lever.
   (4) Put WARNING NOTICE(S) in the cockpit to tell persons not to operate the flaps or slats.
   (5) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT)- ADJUSTABLE in position below the applicable drain-hole, zone 540 (640).

4. Procedure
Subtask 57-41-00-110-064-A
A. Preparation for Inspection
   (1) Use a Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) , made moist with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) to clean the applicable inspection area.
Subtask 57-41-00-210-052-A
B. Inspection
   (1) Examine the drain holes at slat tracks 1 thru 4.
     (a) Make sure that:
  • The drain holes are clear, not damaged and show no signs of fuel leakage.
  • There is no corrosion on the adjacent areas.
  • The surface finish is in the correct condition.
     (b) If necessary, refer to SRM 572100 for the correct repair procedure.
   (2) Examine the magnetic level indicator.
     (a) Make sure that:
  • The hole edges are not damaged.
  • The sight collar is in good condition.
  • The surface condition of the hole edges is correct.
  • There is no fuel leakage.
  • There is no corrosion.
     (b) If necessary, refer to SRM 572100 for the correct repair procedure.
   (3) Examine the left and right MLG pickup-rail holes.
     (a) Make sure that:
  • There is no damage or distortion on the edges of the holes.
  • There is no corrosion on the adjacent area.
  • The surface condition of the hole edges is correct.
     (b) If necessary, refer to SRM 572100 for the correct repair procedure.

   (1) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
   (2) Remove the access platform(s).
   (3) Remove the 98D27803500001 LOCKING TOOL ZERO POS from the flap/slat control lever.
   (4) Remove the safety barriers.
   (5) Remove the ground support and maintenance equipment, the special and standard tools and all other items.
