A. Polishing of the Sharklet Glazing-Assembly Lens
(1) Preparation and repair procedure:
(a) Make sure that you applied protection on the serviceable areas of the glazing panel.
(b) Use water (with Liquid Soap-- - - (Material No.08GAA1) if applicable) to keep the sharklet glazing assembly-lens cool.
(c) Put the abrasive paper on a foam block.
(d) Make sure that the foam block is perpendicular to the work surface for each application.
(e) Make sure that you move the foam block in a linear direction.
(f) Clean the surface before you use the subsequent smoother grades of the abrasive paper.
(2) Use the PAPER - ABRASIVE (GRADE 320) on the damaged area to remove all the damage.
(3) Flush the surface with clean water and dry it with the clean Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) to remove all the unwanted material.
(4) Use the PAPER - ABRASIVE (GRADE 400) and make sure that there is an overlap of the defective area.
(5) Do the step (3) again to remove the remaining scores.
(7) Use micro-mesh cloths with these grades in this sequence, on the same surface, to make the sharklet glazing-assembly lens smooth:
(10) Polish the repaired area as follows:
(a) Use the micro-mesh cotton cloth wipe to apply a sufficient quantity of micro-gloss.
(b) Polish the repaired area until the micro-gloss is removed.
(c) If necessary, add clean water to make the micro-gloss serviceable for a longer period.
(11) Flush the lens surface with water and dry it with the clean Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) .
(12) If you cannot get a satisfactory repair, replace the glazing panel.
