SPECIAL DETAILED INSPECTION (HFEC AND US) OF OUTER WING, BOTTOM SKIN LOWER SURFACE AT FUEL PUMP APERTURES AND ADJACENT HOLES BETWEEN RIB 1 AND RIB 2.
NOTE: The effectivity of this task is "ALL". To know if this task is applicable to your aircraft, refer to the MPD task applicability.
NOTE: To do this task, fuel pumps 21QA(26QA) and 25QA(22QA) must be removed.

A. Safety Precautions
(2) As necessary, use the applicable SAFETY BARRIERS, specified by the operator's instructions and your local regulations.
(3) Install the 98D27803500001 LOCKING TOOL ZERO POS on the flap/slat control lever.
(4) Put the WARNING NOTICE(S) in position in the cockpit to tell persons not to operate the flaps or the slats.
Subtask 57-20-00-010-121-A WARNING:
OBEY THE FUEL SAFETY PROCEDURES.
(1) Obey the fuel safety procedures (Ref. AMM TASK 28-00-00-910-001). (2) As necessary, use the applicable SAFETY BARRIERS, specified by the operator's instructions and your local regulations.
(3) Install the 98D27803500001 LOCKING TOOL ZERO POS on the flap/slat control lever.
(4) Put the WARNING NOTICE(S) in position in the cockpit to tell persons not to operate the flaps or the slats.
B. Get Access
(1) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT) in position at zone 540(640).
(2) Remove fuel pumps 21QA(26QA) and 25QA(22QA) (Ref. AMM TASK 28-21-51-000-001).
Subtask 57-20-00-110-106-A (1) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT) in position at zone 540(640).
(2) Remove fuel pumps 21QA(26QA) and 25QA(22QA) (Ref. AMM TASK 28-21-51-000-001).
C. Preparation of the Inspection Area
(1) Make sure that the inspection area is sufficiently clean to do a satisfactory inspection of the area.
(3) Make sure that there is no TPS layer and if there is a TPS layer, remove it (Ref. AMM TASK 51-78-00-916-001).
(4) Remove the sealant and/or paint from the inspection area if this is necessary for the Nondestructive Testing Manual (NTM) task.
4. Procedure(1) Make sure that the inspection area is sufficiently clean to do a satisfactory inspection of the area.
WARNING:
WHEN YOU USE COMPRESSED AIR:
(2) If not, clean the edges of the two fuel pump openings with the clean Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) made moist with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) and the AIR SOURCE FILTERED, DRY.- USE THE CORRECT PROTECTION (FACE SHIELD OR GOGGLES)
- DO NOT POINT THE AIRFLOW AT YOURSELF OR OTHER PERSONS.
(3) Make sure that there is no TPS layer and if there is a TPS layer, remove it (Ref. AMM TASK 51-78-00-916-001).
(4) Remove the sealant and/or paint from the inspection area if this is necessary for the Nondestructive Testing Manual (NTM) task.
Subtask 57-20-00-280-062-A
A. Inspection
(1) Do a special detailed inspection (HFEC and US) of the bottom skin lower-surface of the outer wing for damage or discontinuities. Do this inspection at the fuel pump openings and the adjacent holes, between rib 1 and rib 2 NTM 572054.
(2) Make a report of the damage after the NTM inspection:
(a) Corrosion damage:
If you find corrosion, refer to the Structural Repair Manual ( SRM 512200) for the corrosion types, inspection, removal and subsequent corrosion protection.
(b) Other damage (scratches, cracks, gouges, dents, creases):
If you find this type of damage, refer to the Structural Repair Manual ( SRM 511100) for damage types, classification and corrective action.
Subtask 57-20-00-370-050-A (1) Do a special detailed inspection (HFEC and US) of the bottom skin lower-surface of the outer wing for damage or discontinuities. Do this inspection at the fuel pump openings and the adjacent holes, between rib 1 and rib 2 NTM 572054.
(2) Make a report of the damage after the NTM inspection:

(1) If the NTM procedure asked to remove the sealant and/or paint from the inspection area, apply sealant ( SRM 512400) or paint ( SRM 512300) on the inspection area.

A. Close Access
(1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) Install fuel pumps 21QA(26QA) and 25QA(22QA) (Ref. AMM TASK 28-21-51-400-001).

(5) Remove the ground support and maintenance equipment, the special and standard tools and all other items.
(1) Remove the access platform(s).
(2) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
(3) Remove the 98D27803500001 LOCKING TOOL ZERO POS from the flap/slat control lever.
(4) Remove the SAFETY BARRIERS.
(5) Remove the ground support and maintenance equipment, the special and standard tools and all other items.
