Subtask 57-20-00-941-111-A
A. Safety Precautions
   (1) Obey the safety procedures when you do work in the fuel tank (Ref. AMM TASK 28-10-00-910-001).
   (2) Install the 98D27803500001 LOCKING TOOL ZERO POS on the slats and flaps control lever.
   (3) Put the WARNING NOTICE(S) in position in the cockpit to tell persons not to operate the slats and flaps control lever.
   (4) As necessary, use the applicable SAFETY BARRIERS, specified by the operator's instructions and your local regulations.

B. Get Access
   (1) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT)- ADJUSTABLE in position below the wing fuel tank, at zone 540(640).
   (2) Remove the applicable access panels (Ref. AMM TASK 57-27-11-000-001):

C. Preparation of the Inspection Area
   (1) Make sure that the inspection area is sufficiently clean to do a satisfactory inspection of the area.
   (2) If the inspection area is not sufficiently clean, clean it with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) and the Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) .
   (3) If there is a TPS layer and if it does not let you do a satisfactory inspection, remove the TPS layer (Ref. AMM TASK 51-78-00-916-001).
   (4) If sealant or paint is applied on the inspection area:
     (a) Remove the sealant with the SCRAPER - NON METALLIC.
     (b) Remove the paint.

B. Inspection
   (1) Examine the applicable inspection area with the LIGHT SOURCE - SPARK-PROOF and the MIRROR - INSPECTION.
   (2) Do a special detailed inspection of the rear spar forward-face of the outer wing at the attachment holes of gear support rib 5 for damage or discontinuities NTM 572110. Do this inspection at the MLG forward-pintle fitting and the retraction jack fitting.
   (3) Refer to the NTM inspection report and do the applicable step:
     (a) Corrosion:
If you find corrosion, refer to the Structural Repair Manual SRM 512200 for the corrosion types, inspection, removal and subsequent corrosion protection.
     (b) Other damage (scratches, cracks, gouges, dents, creases):
If you find this type of damage, refer to the Structural Repair Manual SRM 511100 for the damage types, classification and corrective action.

D. Inspection
   (1) Do a special detailed inspection of the rear spar forward-face of the outer wing at the attachment holes of gear support rib 5 for damage and discontinuities NTM 572118. Do this inspection at the MLG forward-pintle fitting and the retraction jack fitting.
   (2) Refer to the NTM inspection report and do the applicable step:
     (a) Corrosion:
If you find corrosion, refer to the Structural Repair Manual SRM 512200 for the corrosion types, inspection, removal and subsequent corrosion protection.
     (b) Other damage (scratches, cracks, gouges, dents, creases):
If you find this type of damage, refer to the Structural Repair Manual SRM 511100 for the damage types, classification and corrective action.

E. Sealant or Paint Application
   (1) If you removed the sealant and/or paint from the inspection area, apply sealant SRM 512400 or paint SRM 512300 on the inspection area.

CAUTION: DO NOT APPLY TEMPORARY PROTECTION SYSTEM (TPS) TYPE 3 ON THE MOVABLE COMPONENTS. USE ONLY TPS TYPE 1 GRADE 2. IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THIS INSTRUCTION, THE MECHANISMS WILL NOT OPERATE CORRECTLY.
F. Check and Application of the TPS Layer
NOTE: There is no special requirement about the TPS layer application in this area. The operator can apply TPS or let the surface stay without protection.
   (1) If you removed the TPS layer at the "Preparation of the Inspection Area" paragraph, apply a new layer (Ref. AMM TASK 51-78-00-916-001).
   (2) If you did not remove the TPS layer at the "Preparation of the Inspection Area" paragraph:
     (a) Do a check of the condition and integrity of the TPS layer (Ref. AMM TASK 51-78-00-916-001).
     (b) In relation to the condition and integrity of the TPS layer, apply a new TPS layer or not.
   (3) If the TPS layer has local damage, remove the damaged TPS layer and apply a new TPS layer (Ref. AMM TASK 51-78-00-916-001).
