NOTE: This procedure is an alternative to MPD Task 572050-02 (Ref. Task 57-20-00-220-011).

A. Safety Precautions
(2) Install the 98D27803500001 LOCKING TOOL ZERO POS on the flap/slat control lever.
(3) Put WARNING NOTICE(S) in the cockpit to tell persons not to operate the flaps or slats.
(4) As necessary, use the applicable SAFETY BARRIERS, specified by the operator's instructions and your local regulations.
Subtask 57-20-00-860-071-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL WARNING:
OBEY THE FUEL SAFETY PROCEDURES.
(1) Obey the fuel safety precautions (Ref. AMM TASK 28-10-00-910-001). (2) Install the 98D27803500001 LOCKING TOOL ZERO POS on the flap/slat control lever.
(3) Put WARNING NOTICE(S) in the cockpit to tell persons not to operate the flaps or slats.
(4) As necessary, use the applicable SAFETY BARRIERS, specified by the operator's instructions and your local regulations.
B. Fuel Configuration
(1) Move the fuel to another tank (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-00-869-001) or defuel the tank (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-00-650-001) as applicable.
(2) Drain all of the remaining fuel from the tank through the water drain valves (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-00-650-003).
Subtask 57-20-00-010-103-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Move the fuel to another tank (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-00-869-001) or defuel the tank (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-00-650-001) as applicable.
(2) Drain all of the remaining fuel from the tank through the water drain valves (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-00-650-003).
C. Get Access
(1) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 5M (16 FT)- ADJUSTABLE in position below the zone 540(640).
(2) Remove the applicable access panels:
(a) For the left wing, remove:

- 540CZ 540DZ (Ref. AMM TASK 57-27-11-000-007).

A. Preparation for Inspection
(1) Use a clean Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) and made moist with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) to clean the dry bay area:

- the skin attachments and the cleats
- the spar attachment
- the access cutouts
- the stringer cutouts.
B. Detailed Inspection of Outer Wing, Dry Bay Area
(1) Examine the dry bay area, between RIB5 to RIB6B. Make a check of the bottom skin stringers including any drain holes in stringers and the joint brackets.
Make sure that:

- there is no corrosion or damage
- there are no scratches or scores
- there are no loose or damaged fasteners
- the surface protection is in the correct condition.
NOTE: If necessary, refer to the SRM 572100 for the correct repair procedure.

(1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) Install the applicable access panels:

- 640CZ (if removed) and 640DZ (Ref. AMM TASK 57-27-11-400-007)
- 640AB 640BB (Ref. AMM TASK 57-27-11-400-001).
B. Fuel Configuration
(1) Refuel (Ref. AMM TASK 12-11-28-650-003), defuel (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-00-650-001) or transfer fuel (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-00-869-001) as necessary.

C. Removal of Equipment
(1) Remove the safety barriers.
(2) Remove the access platform(s).
(3) Remove the 98D27803500001 LOCKING TOOL ZERO POS from the flap/slat control lever.
(4) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
(5) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(6) Remove the ground support and maintenance equipment, the special and standard tools and all other items.
(1) Remove the safety barriers.
(2) Remove the access platform(s).
(3) Remove the 98D27803500001 LOCKING TOOL ZERO POS from the flap/slat control lever.
(4) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
(5) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(6) Remove the ground support and maintenance equipment, the special and standard tools and all other items.
