Subtask 57-20-00-941-069-A
A. Safety Precautions
   (1) Install the 98D27803500001 LOCKING TOOL ZERO POS on the flap/slat control lever.
   (2) Put WARNING NOTICE(S) in the cockpit to tell persons not to operate the flaps or slats.
   (3) Put the SAFETY BARRIER(S) in position.
   (4) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) in position below the applicable zones 571(671) and 574(674).
4. Procedure
Subtask 57-20-00-110-070-A
A. Preparation for Inspection
   (1) Use a clean Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) , made moist with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) , to clean:
  • the lower surface of the bottom skin at the attachment to the rear spar between RIB1 and RIB8.
    Do not include the areas covered by:
  • the main landing gear reinforcing plate
  • the flap track 2 fairing
  • the pylon fairing.

B. Detailed Inspection of the Outer-Wing, Bottom Skin Lower-Surface at the Attachment to the Rear Spar, between RIB1 and RIB8, Excluding Areas Covered by the Main Landing Gear Reinforcing-Plate, Flap Track 2 Fairing and Pylon Fairing
   (1) Examine the bottom-skin lower-surface at the attachment to the rear spar between RIB1 and RIB8. Do not include the areas covered by:
  • the main landing gear reinforcing plate
  • the flap track 2 fairing
  • the pylon fairing.
    Make sure that:
  • there is no corrosion or damage
  • there are no scratches or scores
  • there are no loose or damaged fasteners
  • the surface protection is in the correct condition.
5. Close-up
Subtask 57-20-00-942-070-A
A. Removal of Equipment
   (1) Remove the safety barriers.
   (2) Remove the access platform(s).
   (3) Remove the 98D27803500001 LOCKING TOOL ZERO POS from the flap/slat control lever.
   (4) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
   (5) Remove the ground support and maintenance equipment, the special and standard tools and all other items.
