A. Safety Precautions
WARNING: OBEY THE FUEL SAFETY PROCEDURES.
   (1) Obey the fuel safety precautions (Ref. AMM TASK 28-10-00-910-001).
   (2) Install the 98D27803500001 LOCKING TOOL ZERO POS on the flap/slat control lever.
   (3) Put WARNING NOTICE(S) in the cockpit to tell persons not to operate the flaps or slats.
   (4) Put the SAFETY BARRIER(S) in position.

B. Get Access
WARNING: OBEY THE SAFETY PROCEDURES WHEN YOU DO WORK IN A FUEL TANK.
   (1) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT)- ADJUSTABLE in position below the zone 540(640)
   (2) Remove the applicable access panels:

Subtask 57-20-00-110-066-A
A. Preparation for Inspection
   (1) Use a clean Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) , made moist with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) , to clean RIB7 and RIB8, and the pylon rear fitting. Do not clean the pick-up lug.

B. Detailed Inspection of Outer Wing, RIB7 and RIB8 and Pylon Rear Fitting, excluding Pick-Up Lug
   (1) Examine RIB7 and RIB8, and the pylon rear fitting.
Make sure that:
  • there is no corrosion or damage
  • there are no scratches, or scores
  • there are no loose or damaged fasteners
  • the surface protection is in the correct condition.
NOTE: Do not examine pick-up lug on the pylon rear fitting.
NOTE: If necessary, refer to the SRM 572100 for the correct repair procedure.

A. Close Access
   (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (2) Install the applicable access panels:

B. Removal of Equipment
   (1) Remove the safety barriers.
   (2) Remove the access platform(s).
   (3) Remove the 98D27803500001 LOCKING TOOL ZERO POS from the flap/slat control lever.
   (4) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
   (5) Remove the ground support and maintenance equipment, the special and standard tools and all other items.
