NOTE: The effectivity of this task is "ALL". To know if this task is applicable for your aircraft, refer to the MPD task applicability and the weight variant data given in the SRM introduction.
NOTE: If applicable, do this procedure and AMM Task 57-20-00-220-010-A at the same time. The inspection of the dry bay area can be done through the front spar access panels (Ref. TASK 57-20-00-220-010-A).

A. Safety Precautions
WARNING: OBEY THE FUEL SAFETY PROCEDURES.
   (1) Obey the fuel safety precautions (Ref. AMM TASK 28-10-00-910-001).
   (2) Install the 98D27803500001 LOCKING TOOL ZERO POS on the flap/slat control lever.
   (3) Put WARNING NOTICE(S)S in the cockpit to tell persons not to operate the flaps or slats.
   (4) As necessary, use the applicable SAFETY BARRIERS, specified by the operator's instructions and your local regulations.

B. Fuel Configuration
   (1) Move the fuel to another tank (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-00-869-001) or defuel the tank (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-00-650-001) as applicable.
   (2) Drain all of the remaining fuel from the tank through the water drain valves (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-00-650-003).

A. Preparation for Inspection
   (1) Use a clean Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) , made moist with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) , to clean RIB5 and RIB6 around:
  • the skin attachments and the cleats
  • the spar attachment
  • the access cutouts
  • the stringer cutouts.

B. Detailed Inspection of the Outer Wing, RIB5 and RIB6 at the Skin Attachments (including cleats), Spar-Attachments, Access-Cutout Surrounds and in the Region of the Stringer Cutouts, excluding the area inside the dry bay
   (1) Examine RIB5 and RIB6. Make a check of the rib condition in these areas:
  • the skin attachments, and the cleats
  • the spar attachments
  • the access cutouts
  • the stringer cutouts
    Make sure that:
  • there is no corrosion or damage
  • there are no scratches or scores
  • there are no loose or damaged fasteners
  • the surface protection is in the correct condition.
NOTE: If necessary, refer to the SRM 572100 for the correct repair procedure.
