A. Safety Precautions
WARNING: OBEY THE FUEL SAFETY PROCEDURES.
   (1) Obey the fuel safety precautions (Ref. AMM TASK 28-10-00-910-001).
   (2) Install the 98D27803500001 LOCKING TOOL ZERO POS on the flap/slat control lever.
   (3) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in the cockpit to tell persons not to operate the flaps or slats.
   (4) As necessary, use the applicable SAFETY BARRIERS, specified by the operator's instructions and your local regulations.

B. Get Access
WARNING: OBEY THE SAFETY PROCEDURES WHEN YOU DO WORK IN A FUEL TANK.
   (1) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) in position below the zone 540(640).
   (2) Remove the applicable access panel:

Subtask 57-20-00-110-063-A
A. Preparation for Inspection
   (1) Use a clean Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) , made moist with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) , to clean the outboard face of RIB2, RIB3 and RIB4. At each rib, make sure that you clean these areas:
  • The skin attachments
  • The spar attachments
  • The stringer cutouts.

B. Detailed Inspection of Outer Wing Ribs, Outboard Face of RIB2, RIB3 and RIB4 at Skin Attachments (including Cleats), Spar Attachments, and in Region of Stringer Cutouts
   (1) Examine the applicable inspection area.
Make sure that:
  • There is no corrosion or damage
  • There are no scratches or scores
  • There are no loose or damaged fasteners
  • The surface protection is in the correct condition.
NOTE: If necessary, refer to the SRM 572100 for the correct repair procedure.

   (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (2) Install the applicable access panels:

B. Removal of Equipment
   (1) Remove the SAFETY BARRIER(S).
   (2) Remove the access platform(s).
   (3) Remove the 98D27803500001 LOCKING TOOL ZERO POS from the flap/slat control lever.
   (4) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
   (5) Remove the ground support and maintenance equipment, the special and standard tools and all other items.
