A. Safety Precautions
(2) Install the 98D27803500001 LOCKING TOOL ZERO POS on the flap/slat control lever.
(3) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in the cockpit to tell persons not to operate the flaps or slats.
(4) As necessary, use the applicable SAFETY BARRIERS, specified by the operator's instructions and your local regulations.
Subtask 57-20-00-650-054-A WARNING:
OBEY THE FUEL SAFETY PROCEDURES.
(1) Obey the fuel safety precautions (Ref. AMM TASK 28-10-00-910-001). (2) Install the 98D27803500001 LOCKING TOOL ZERO POS on the flap/slat control lever.
(3) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in the cockpit to tell persons not to operate the flaps or slats.
(4) As necessary, use the applicable SAFETY BARRIERS, specified by the operator's instructions and your local regulations.
B. Fuel Configuration
(1) Move the fuel to another tank (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-00-869-001) or defuel the tank (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-00-650-001) as applicable.
(2) Drain all of the remaining fuel from the tank through the water drain valves (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-00-650-003).
Subtask 57-20-00-010-050-A (1) Move the fuel to another tank (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-00-869-001) or defuel the tank (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-00-650-001) as applicable.
(2) Drain all of the remaining fuel from the tank through the water drain valves (Ref. AMM TASK 28-25-00-650-003).
C. Get Access
(2) Remove the access panels for the applicable wing (Ref. AMM TASK 57-27-11-000-001) and (Ref. AMM TASK 28-10-00-910-002):
Subtask 57-20-00-110-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL WARNING:
BEFORE YOU DO WORK IN OR NEAR A FUEL TANK, MAKE SURE THAT YOU OBEY ALL THE SAFETY PROCEDURES. THIS WILL PREVENT INJURY TO PERSONS AND/OR DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT.
(1) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT)- ADJUSTABLE in position below zone 540(640). (2) Remove the access panels for the applicable wing (Ref. AMM TASK 57-27-11-000-001) and (Ref. AMM TASK 28-10-00-910-002):
D. Preparation for Inspection
(1) Remove unwanted sealant from the access panel cut-out(s) and the seal faces of the access panels.
(2) Make sure that the inspection area is sufficiently clean to do the inspection of the area.
(3) Use a clean Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) , made moist with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) , to clean:
Subtask 57-20-00-110-050-B ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Remove unwanted sealant from the access panel cut-out(s) and the seal faces of the access panels.
(2) Make sure that the inspection area is sufficiently clean to do the inspection of the area.
(3) Use a clean Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) , made moist with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) , to clean:
- the access panel (1) interfaces
- the fuel tank access cut-out (3) interfaces and the adjacent area
- the clamp ring (5) and the bolt (6) areas.

(2) Make sure that the inspection area is sufficiently clean to do the inspection of the area.

A. Detailed Inspection of Outer Wing, Bottom Skin, Upper and Lower Surfaces, around Access Door Cutouts in Rib Bay 2-3 and Rib Bay 6-7
(1) Examine the areas of the top and the bottom skin surfaces adjacent to the access panel cut-outs.
Make sure that:
Subtask 57-20-00-210-050-B ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Examine the areas of the top and the bottom skin surfaces adjacent to the access panel cut-outs.
Make sure that:
- there is no corrosion of the access panel (1) and the wing skin (3)
- the sealing ring (2) is in good condition
- the access hole edges in the wing skin (3) are not damaged
- the knitted gasket (4) is in good condition
- there is no damage to, or scoring of, the clamp ring (5) and the access panel (1) interface
- the bolt (6) holes in the clamp ring (5) are not damaged
- the paint finish is of the correct condition.
NOTE: If necessary, refer to the SRM 572000 for the correct repair procedure.

- there is no damage to, or scoring of, the access panel outer (5) and the access panel assembly (1) interface
- the bolt (6) holes in the access panel outer (5) are not damaged
- the paint finish is of the correct condition.
NOTE: If necessary, refer to the SRM 572000 for the correct repair procedure.

(2) Install the applicable access panels (Ref. AMM TASK 57-27-11-400-001):

(1) Remove the safety barriers.
(2) Remove the access platform(s).
(3) Remove the 98D27803500001 LOCKING TOOL ZERO POS from the flap/slat control lever.
(4) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
(5) Remove the ground support and maintenance equipment, the special and standard tools and all other items.
(1) Remove the safety barriers.
(2) Remove the access platform(s).
(3) Remove the 98D27803500001 LOCKING TOOL ZERO POS from the flap/slat control lever.
(4) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
(5) Remove the ground support and maintenance equipment, the special and standard tools and all other items.
