Subtask 57-10-00-941-072-A

A. Safety Precautions
(1) On FLAPS panel 114VU:
(a) Put the 98D27803500001 LOCKING TOOL ZERO POS in position on the flap/slat control lever.
(b) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) on the flap/slat control lever to tell persons not to operate the flap/slat control lever.
(2) Obey the fuel safety precautions (Ref. AMM TASK 28-00-00-910-001).

Subtask 57-10-00-010-096-A

B. Get Access
(1) Put an ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) in position in zone 540 (640).
(2) Remove the access panels (Ref. AMM TASK 57-27-11-000-001):
(a) For the left wing: 540AB
(b) For the right wing: 640AB.
(3) Open the RIB2 surge doors:
(a) For the left wing: 540AZ 540BZ
(b) For the right wing: 640AZ 640BZ.
(4) Install the 98D57004013000 HOOK-COVER (RIB 2 SURGE DOORS) on the forward surge doors.
(5) Install the 98D57004014000 HOOK-COVER (RIB2-SURGE DOORS) on the aft surge doors.

C. Preparation of the Inspection Area
(1) Remove the sealant from the fasteners between stiffener 6 and FR42.
(2) Make sure that the inspection area is sufficiently clean to do a satisfactory inspection of the area.
(3) If it is not sufficiently clean, clean the inspection area with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) and Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) .
(4) Use a FLASHLIGHT and a MIRROR - INSPECTION for the inspection, if necessary.

4. Procedure
Subtask 57-10-00-270-058-A

A. Inspection

Triform Fitting and Stringer of the Outer Wing Box, between Stringer 6 and FR42 ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL

(1) Do a special detailed inspection (US) of the triform fitting and the stringer of the outer wing box for damage or discontinuities. This inspection includes the area between stringer 6 and FR42. Do this inspection on the left and right sides. Refer to the Non-destructive Testing Manual ( NTM 571203).
(2) Make a report of damage after NTM inspection:
(a) Corrosion damage:

If you find corrosion, refer to the Structural Repair Manual ( SRM 512200) for the corrosion types, inspection, removal and subsequent corrosion protection.

(b) Other damage (scratches, cracks, gouges, dents, creases):

If you find this type of damage, refer to the Structural Repair Manual ( SRM 511100) for the damage types, classification and corrective action.

5. Close-up
Subtask 57-10-00-390-056-A

A. Sealant Application
(1) Clean the inspection area with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) and Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) .
(2) Apply sealant on the fasteners between stringer 6 and FR42, refer to the Structural Repair Manual ( SRM 517612) and (Ref. AMM TASK 51-76-12-300-002).

Subtask 57-10-00-410-097-A

B. Close Access
(1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) Remove the 98D57004013000 HOOK-COVER (RIB 2 SURGE DOORS) on the forward surge doors.
(3) Remove the 98D57004014000 HOOK-COVER (RIB2-SURGE DOORS) on the aft surge doors.
(4) Close the RIB2 surge doors:
(a) For the left wing: 540AZ 540BZ
(b) For the right wing: 640AZ 640BZ.
(5) Install the access panels (Ref. AMM TASK 57-27-11-400-001):
(a) For the left wing: 540AB
(b) For the right wing: 640AB.
(6) Remove the access platform(s).
(7) Remove the 98D27803500001 LOCKING TOOL ZERO POS on the flap/slat control lever.
(8) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
