Subtask 57-10-00-941-066-A
A. Safety Precautions
   (1) On FLAPS panel 114VU:
     (a) Put the 98D27803500001 LOCKING TOOL ZERO POS in position on the flap/slat control lever.
     (b) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) on the flap/slat control lever to tell persons not to operate the flap/slat control lever.
   (2) Obey the fuel safety precautions (Ref. AMM TASK 28-00-00-910-001).

B. Get Access
   (1) Put an ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) in position in zone 540 (640).
   (2) Remove the access panels (Ref. AMM TASK 57-27-11-000-001):
  • For the left wing: 540AB
  • For the right wing: 640AB.
   (3) Open the RIB2 surge doors:
   (4) Install the 98D57004013000 HOOK-COVER (RIB 2 SURGE DOORS) on the forward surge doors.
   (5) Install the 98D57004014000 HOOK-COVER (RIB2-SURGE DOORS) on the aft surge doors.
   (6) Use a FLASHLIGHT for the inspection.

C. Preparation for the Inspection Area
   (1) Remove the sealant from the fasteners (10) between STGR8 to FR42.
   (2) Make sure that the inspection area is sufficiently clean to do a satisfactory inspection of the area.
   (3) If it is not sufficiently clean, clean the inspection area with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) and Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) .
   (4) Do a visual check of the inspection area for damage or discontinuities.
   (5) Make sure that there is no:
     (a) Corrosion damage:
  • If you find corrosion damage, refer to Structural Repair Manual SRM 512200 for types of corrosion, inspection, removal and corrosion protection.
     (b) Other damage (scratches, cracks, gouges, dents, creases):
  • If you find this type of damage, refer to Structural Repair Manual SRM 511100 for damage classification and corrective action.
4. Procedure
Subtask 57-10-00-270-051-A
A. Inspection
   (1) Do a special detailed inspection (US) of the first row of the fasteners (10) in the wing tank. This inspection is applicable from RIB1 of the upper surface of the fitting (11), between STGR8 and FR42 (left and right sides). Refer to Non-destructive Testing Manual NTM 571182.
   (2) Make a report of damage after NDT inspection:
     (a) Corrosion damage:
  • If you find corrosion damage, refer to Structural Repair Manual SRM 512200 for types of corrosion, inspection, removal and corrosion protection.
     (b) Other damage (scratches, cracks, gouges, dents, creases):
  • If you find this type of damage, refer to Structural Repair Manual SRM 511100 for damage classification and corrective action.
5. Close-up
Subtask 57-10-00-390-051-A
A. Sealant Application
   (1) Clean the inspection area with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) and Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) .
   (2) Apply sealant on the fasteners (10) between STGR8 to FR42, refer to Structural Repair Manual SRM 517612 and (Ref. AMM TASK 51-76-12-300-002).

B. Close Access
   (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (2) Remove the 98D57004013000 HOOK-COVER (RIB 2 SURGE DOORS) on the forward surge doors.
   (3) Remove the 98D57004014000 HOOK-COVER (RIB2-SURGE DOORS) on the aft surge doors.
   (4) Close the RIB2 surge doors:
   (5) Install the access panels (Ref. AMM TASK 57-27-11-400-001):
  • For the left wing: 540AB
  • For the right wing: 640AB.

C. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
   (1) Remove the access platform(s).
   (2) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
   (3) Remove the 98D27803500001 LOCKING TOOL ZERO POS on the flap/slat control lever.
