A. Safety Precautions
WARNING: OBEY THE FUEL SAFETY PROCEDURES.
   (1) Obey the fuel safety precautions (Ref. AMM TASK 28-00-00-910-001) and (Ref. AMM TASK 28-10-00-910-001).
   (2) Put WARNING NOTICE(S) in the cockpit to tell persons not to operate the flaps or slats.
   (3) Install the 98D27803500001 LOCKING TOOL ZERO POS on the flap/slat control lever.

B. Get Access
   (1) Put an ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT)- ADJUSTABLE in position below the access panels 540AB and 640AB.
   (2) Remove the access panels
(Ref. AMM TASK 57-27-11-000-001):
     (a) For the left wing: 540AB
     (b) For the right wing: 640AB.
   (3) Open the RIB2 surge doors:
     (a) For the left wing: 540AZ 540BZ
     (b) For the right wing: 640AZ 640BZ.
   (4) Install the 98D57004013000 HOOK-COVER (RIB 2 SURGE DOORS) on the forward surge doors.
   (5) Install the 98D57004014000 HOOK-COVER (RIB2-SURGE DOORS) on the aft surge doors.
   (6) Use a FLASHLIGHT if necessary.
Subtask 57-10-00-110-062-A
C. Preparation of the Inspection Area
   (1) Make sure that the inspection area is sufficiently clean to do a satisfactory inspection of the area.
   (2) If it is not sufficiently clean, clean the inspection area with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) and a Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) .
4. Procedure
Subtask 57-10-00-220-062-A
A. Inspection
   (1) Do a detailed inspection of:
  • The outboard surface of RIB1
  • The top surface of the triform fitting of the outer wing box.
This inspection is applicable between the front spar and the rear spar.
   (2) Make sure that there is no:
     (a) Corrosion damage:
  • If you find corrosion damage, refer to Structural Repair Manual SRM 512200 for types of corrosion, inspection, removal and corrosion protection.
     (b) Other damage (scratches, cracks, gouges, dents, creases):
  • If you find this type of damage, refer to Structural Repair Manual SRM 511100 for damage classification and corrective action.
5. Close-up
Subtask 57-10-00-410-068-A
A. Close Access
   (1) Remove the 98D57004013000 HOOK-COVER (RIB 2 SURGE DOORS) on the forward surge doors.
   (2) Remove the 98D57004014000 HOOK-COVER (RIB2-SURGE DOORS) on the aft surge doors.
   (3) Close the RIB2 surge doors:
     (a) For the left wing: 540AZ 540BZ
     (b) For the right wing: 640AZ 640BZ.
   (4) Install the access panels
(Ref. AMM TASK 57-27-11-400-001):
     (a) For the left wing: 540AB
     (b) For the right wing: 640AB.
Subtask 57-10-00-942-079-A
B. Put the aircraft back to its initial configuration.
   (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (2) Remove the 98D27803500001 LOCKING TOOL ZERO POS on the flap/slat control lever.
   (3) Remove the access platform(s).
   (4) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
