A. Preparation for Installation
(1) Lightly rub the retainer area (41) which contains the seal (40) with a SCOTCHBRITE.
(2) Clean the surfaces and remove the grease with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) and Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) .
(3) Fully dry the surface.
(4) Lightly rub the seal surfaces which touch the retainer (41).
(5) For the seal P/N D531112462xx (Black color):
(a) Apply the Contact Adhesive-Rubber & Plastic Bonding Neoprene base - (Material No.05JBC9) on the surfaces of the seal (40).
(b) Let the adhesive compound become almost dry.
(6) For the seal P/N D53111248200 or D531200002xx (Light gray color):
(a) Apply a thin layer of the primer of Silicone Adhesive Sealant-General Purpose One part legacy (Material No.06CMD9) on the retainer (41).
(b) Apply the Silicone Adhesive Sealant-General Purpose One part legacy (Material No.06CMD9) on the surfaces of the seal (40).
Subtask 56-12-11-420-074-A (1) Lightly rub the retainer area (41) which contains the seal (40) with a SCOTCHBRITE.
(2) Clean the surfaces and remove the grease with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) and Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) .
(3) Fully dry the surface.
(4) Lightly rub the seal surfaces which touch the retainer (41).
(5) For the seal P/N D531112462xx (Black color):
(a) Apply the Contact Adhesive-Rubber & Plastic Bonding Neoprene base - (Material No.05JBC9) on the surfaces of the seal (40).
(b) Let the adhesive compound become almost dry.
(6) For the seal P/N D53111248200 or D531200002xx (Light gray color):
(a) Apply a thin layer of the primer of Silicone Adhesive Sealant-General Purpose One part legacy (Material No.06CMD9) on the retainer (41).
(b) Apply the Silicone Adhesive Sealant-General Purpose One part legacy (Material No.06CMD9) on the surfaces of the seal (40).
B. Installation of the Seal
(1) Put the seal (40) in position.
(2) If the seal has holes, make sure that the holes are on the internal periphery of the seal (40).
(3) Apply a strong force along the length of the seal (40) to make sure that the seal (40) is in contact with the adhesive compound.
(4) Make sure that there is no remaining adhesive compound on the retainer.
(5) Make sure that the external lip of the seal (40) moves freely around the retainer (41) or on the top of the retainer (41).
Subtask 56-12-11-210-069-A (1) Put the seal (40) in position.
(2) If the seal has holes, make sure that the holes are on the internal periphery of the seal (40).
(3) Apply a strong force along the length of the seal (40) to make sure that the seal (40) is in contact with the adhesive compound.
(4) Make sure that there is no remaining adhesive compound on the retainer.
(5) Make sure that the external lip of the seal (40) moves freely around the retainer (41) or on the top of the retainer (41).
C. Sealing Check
(1) Close the sliding window.
(2) Apply water to the periphery of the sliding window from the outer side of the aircraft.
(3) Wait for ten minutes and make sure that there is no water leakage at the level of the window frame.
(4) If water goes into the cockpit, make sure that the adjustments are correct and that the seal is in the correct condition.
(5) Dry if necessary.
5. Close-up(1) Close the sliding window.
(2) Apply water to the periphery of the sliding window from the outer side of the aircraft.
(3) Wait for ten minutes and make sure that there is no water leakage at the level of the window frame.
(4) If water goes into the cockpit, make sure that the adjustments are correct and that the seal is in the correct condition.
(5) Dry if necessary.
