Subtask 56-12-11-941-057-A
A. Get Access
   (1) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 5M (16 FT)- ADJUSTABLE in position in front of the sliding window at zone 210 (only if you must do a detailed inspection from the outer side of the aircraft).
   (2) Clean the sliding windows (Ref. AMM TASK 56-10-00-110-003).
Subtask 56-12-11-865-068-A
WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT THE CIRCUIT BREAKERS RELATED TO THE WEATHER RADAR ARE OPENED, SAFETIED AND TAGGED.

Subtask 56-12-11-210-057-A
A. Inspection of the Sliding-Window Pressure Seal (Only for the Inspection of the Window from the Outer Side of the Aircraft)
   (1) Make sure that there are no cracks and blisters on the seal.
NOTE: It is permitted to fly with a damaged pressure seal (all types of damage) with no time limit. This is only possible if there is no pressure leak which causes an unsatisfactory noise level for the crew in the cockpit.
   (2) Make sure that the surface of the seal that touches the windows is not damaged.
NOTE: You can only do the inspection of the sliding-window pressure seal during the inspection of the window from the outer side of the aircraft.
Subtask 56-12-11-220-055-A
B. Inspection of the Sliding Windows
   (1) Inspection of the acrylic sliding windows (GKN supplier, P/N NH...)
NOTE: In the inspection tables, the word "impaired" refers to the visibility. The visibility is impaired when defects have effects on it.
If the visibility is impaired, it is necessary to replace the window panel.
     (a) Examine the acrylic sliding windows for:
       1 Cracks
       2 Scratches
       3 Chips
       4 Delamination
       5 Bubbles
       6 Discoloration or burning
       7 Transparency
       8 Crazing
       9 Burn spots
       10 Heating film cracking
     (b) Examine the acrylic sliding windows for burn spots
1 Point the FLASHLIGHT at 45 degrees to the outer surface of the window panel.
2 Examine the busbar for burn spots.
     (c) Examine the acrylic sliding windows for crazing
1 Put the RULER 150 MM (6 IN) - METALLIC perpendicular to the surface of the sliding window panel where you see the maximum depth of the crazing.
2 Look at the ruler reflection with an angle of vision of 45 degrees to find the depth of the crazing.
NOTE: The correct depth is approximately two times the depth found.
NOTE: You can use the MAGNIFYING GLASS POWER 10X as an optical aid where the depth of the crazing is at minimum.
   (2) Inspection of the glass sliding windows (PPG supplier, P/N NP... and SGS supplier, P/N SPSA320-3-X-X or P/N SPSA320-4-X-X, P/N SPSA320-7-X-X or P/N SPSA320-8-X-X)
NOTE: In the inspection tables, the word "impaired" refers to the visibility. The visibility is impaired when defects have effects on it.
If the visibility is impaired, it is necessary to replace the window panel.
     (a) Examine the glass sliding windows for:
       1 Cracks
       2 Scratches
NOTE: There are two procedures to measure the depth of the scratches. The fingernail procedure helps you to measure an approximate depth of the scratches. The MITUTOYO surface-tester procedure helps you to measure the accurate depth of the scratches. If the MITUTOYO surface tester is available, the MITUTOYO surface-tester procedure is recommended because it gives accurate measurement results.
a If you see scratches, you must do a check of the depth of the scratches:
       3 Chips
       4 Delamination
       5 Bubbles
       6 Discoloration
       7 Transparency
       8 Interlayer microflakes
       9 Burn spots
       10 Heating film cracking
     (b) Examine the glass sliding windows for burn spots
1 Point the LIGHT SOURCE - WHITE at 45 degrees to the outer surface of the window panel.
2 Examine the busbar for burn spots.
Subtask 56-12-11-220-069-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
C. Inspection of the Sliding Window Handle
   (1) Examine the sliding window handle for:
     (a) Cracks
