Removal of the Sliding Window Panel
WARNING:
YOU MUST MAKE SURE THAT YOU CAN HOLD THE COMPONENT BEFORE YOU REMOVE/INSTALL IT. THE COMPONENT IS HEAVY. IF IT FALLS, IT CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
CAUTION:
DO NOT USE SHARP AND/OR METALLIC TOOLS OR OBJECTS TO REMOVE/INSTALL THE WINDSHIELD OR A WINDOW. DO NOT USE A LEVER AGAINST THE EDGE OF THE WINDSHIELD OR WINDOW. IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THESE INSTRUCTIONS, YOU WILL CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE WINDSHIELD OR WINDOW.
CAUTION:
BEFORE YOU INSTALL/REMOVE THE GSE-TOOL, READ THE INSTRUCTIONS IN THE APPLICABLE GSE INSTRUCTION MANUAL. WHILE YOU OPERATE THIS TOOL, CAREFULLY OBEY THEM. IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THE INSTRUCTIONS, DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT CAN OCCUR.

(1) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 5M (16 FT)- ADJUSTABLE in position at zone 210, in front of the sliding window.

C. Removal of the Component
(1) Remove the reading light bulb from the sliding window lining, if installed (Ref. AMM TASK 33-12-12-000-001):

(3) Remove the Electronic Flight Bag (EFB) Display Unit (DU), if installed (Ref. AMM D/O 46-26-22-00).
(4) Remove the EFB DU mounting-bracket, if installed (Ref. AMM D/O 46-26-22-00).

D. Removal of the Sliding Window Lining
(1) Open sliding window 8DG1 (8DG2) (Ref. AMM TASK 56-12-11-010-001).
(2) Remove the screw (5) and the pencil holder assembly (7).
(3) Remove the screw (21) and the washer (20).
(4) Remove the screw (19) and the washer (18).
(5) Remove the handle (6).
(6) Remove the screw (9) and the washer (8).
(7) Remove the screw (15) and the washer (14).
(8) Remove the guide (13).
(9) Close the sliding window.
(10) Remove the blanking plug (4), the screw (3) and the washer (2).
(11) Remove the screws (11) and (12).
(12) Lift the plate (17).
(13) Remove the sliding window lining (16).
(14) Disconnect the electrical connector (10) from the receptacle.
(15) Put the CAP-BLANKING on each disconnected electrical connector and receptacle.
(16) Remove the structural bracket assembly, if installed (Ref. AMM TASK 56-12-11-000-803).
4. Procedure(1) Open sliding window 8DG1 (8DG2) (Ref. AMM TASK 56-12-11-010-001).
(2) Remove the screw (5) and the pencil holder assembly (7).
(3) Remove the screw (21) and the washer (20).
(4) Remove the screw (19) and the washer (18).
(5) Remove the handle (6).
(6) Remove the screw (9) and the washer (8).
(7) Remove the screw (15) and the washer (14).
(8) Remove the guide (13).
(9) Close the sliding window.
(10) Remove the blanking plug (4), the screw (3) and the washer (2).
(11) Remove the screws (11) and (12).
(12) Lift the plate (17).
(13) Remove the sliding window lining (16).
(14) Disconnect the electrical connector (10) from the receptacle.
(15) Put the CAP-BLANKING on each disconnected electrical connector and receptacle.
(16) Remove the structural bracket assembly, if installed (Ref. AMM TASK 56-12-11-000-803).
Subtask 56-12-11-020-054-A
A. Removal of the Sliding Window Panel
(1) Remove the acrylic sliding-window panel (GKN supplier, P/N NH...) and the glass sliding-window panel (PPG supplier, P/N NP..., do not include P/Ns NP165332A1 and NP165332A2):
(b) Loosen the nuts (30) (do not include the nuts at positions 17 and 18).
(c) Hold the nuts (30) with the 98D56103002000 WRENCH, REMOVAL - SLIDING WINDOW OF LUCAS AND PPG (98D56103002200) and (98D56103002201) at positions 17 and 18 and loosen the screws (32).
(d) Remove the nuts (30) and the screws (32) at positions 28 and 60.
(e) Installation of the pins:
1 For the glass sliding-windows panel (PPG supplier, P/N NP..., do not include P/Ns NP165332A1 and NP165332A2), install the PIN DIA 5 MM (0.196 IN), LENGTH 50 MM (1.96 IN.) at positions 28 and 60 to hold the sliding window panel (31) in position.
2 For the acrylic sliding-windows panel (GKN supplier, P/N NH...), install the PIN DIA 5 MM (0.196 IN), LENGTH 50 MM (1.96 IN.) at positions 28 and 60 to hold the sliding window panel (31) in position.
(f) Remove the remaining nuts (30) and screws (32).
(g) Close the sliding window.
(h) Use the CUP - SUCTION to hold and move the sliding window panel (31).
(i) Remove the two locating pins at positions 28 and 60.
(j) Remove the sliding window panel (31).
(k) Move the frame of the sliding window to the open position (the sliding window panel (31) stays in position in its housing).
(l) Carefully remove the sliding window panel (31).
(2) Remove the glass sliding-window panel (SGS supplier, P/N SPSA320-7-X-X or SPSA320-8-X-X):
(b) Loosen the screws (30).
(c) Use the CUP - SUCTION to hold and move the sliding window panel (32).
(d) Hold the sliding window panel (32) in position then remove and discard the screws (30) and the washers (31).
(e) Move the frame of the sliding window to the open position (the sliding window panel (32) stays in position in its housing).
(f) Carefully remove the sliding window panel (32).
(3) Remove the glass sliding-window panel (PPG supplier, P/Ns NP165332A1 and NP165332A2):
(b) Loosen the screws (3).
(c) Use the CUP - SUCTION to hold and move the sliding window panel (1).
(d) Hold the sliding window panel (1) in position and remove the screws (3) and the washers (2).
(e) Move the frame of the sliding window to the open position.
(f) Make sure that the sliding window panel (1) stays in position in its housing.
(g) Carefully remove the sliding window panel (1).
(1) Remove the acrylic sliding-window panel (GKN supplier, P/N NH...) and the glass sliding-window panel (PPG supplier, P/N NP..., do not include P/Ns NP165332A1 and NP165332A2):
NOTE: Numbers 1 to 63 identify the attachment holes on the periphery of the sliding panel (31).
(a) Open the sliding window. (b) Loosen the nuts (30) (do not include the nuts at positions 17 and 18).
(c) Hold the nuts (30) with the 98D56103002000 WRENCH, REMOVAL - SLIDING WINDOW OF LUCAS AND PPG (98D56103002200) and (98D56103002201) at positions 17 and 18 and loosen the screws (32).
(d) Remove the nuts (30) and the screws (32) at positions 28 and 60.
(e) Installation of the pins:
1 For the glass sliding-windows panel (PPG supplier, P/N NP..., do not include P/Ns NP165332A1 and NP165332A2), install the PIN DIA 5 MM (0.196 IN), LENGTH 50 MM (1.96 IN.) at positions 28 and 60 to hold the sliding window panel (31) in position.
2 For the acrylic sliding-windows panel (GKN supplier, P/N NH...), install the PIN DIA 5 MM (0.196 IN), LENGTH 50 MM (1.96 IN.) at positions 28 and 60 to hold the sliding window panel (31) in position.
(f) Remove the remaining nuts (30) and screws (32).
(g) Close the sliding window.
(h) Use the CUP - SUCTION to hold and move the sliding window panel (31).
(i) Remove the two locating pins at positions 28 and 60.
(j) Remove the sliding window panel (31).
(k) Move the frame of the sliding window to the open position (the sliding window panel (31) stays in position in its housing).
(l) Carefully remove the sliding window panel (31).
