Removal of the Sliding Window Panel
WARNING:
YOU MUST MAKE SURE THAT YOU CAN HOLD THE COMPONENT BEFORE YOU REMOVE/INSTALL IT. THE COMPONENT IS HEAVY. IF IT FALLS, IT CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.

BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU USE CONSUMABLE MATERIALS. OBEY THE MATERIAL MANUFACTURER'S INSTRUCTIONS AND YOUR LOCAL REGULATIONS.
CAUTION:
DO NOT USE SHARP AND/OR METALLIC TOOLS OR OBJECTS TO REMOVE/INSTALL THE WINDSHIELD OR A WINDOW. DO NOT USE A LEVER AGAINST THE EDGE OF THE WINDSHIELD OR WINDOW. IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THESE INSTRUCTIONS, YOU WILL CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE WINDSHIELD OR WINDOW.
CAUTION:
BEFORE YOU INSTALL/REMOVE THE GSE-TOOL, READ THE INSTRUCTIONS IN THE APPLICABLE GSE INSTRUCTION MANUAL. WHILE YOU OPERATE THIS TOOL, CAREFULLY OBEY THEM. IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THE INSTRUCTIONS, DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT CAN OCCUR.
1. Reason for the JobNOTE: Two persons are necessary for this procedure.
NOTE: There are alternative procedures for the removal of the sliding windows. This task gives one of the procedures. For the other procedures, refer to the related task in this page block.
NOTE: This procedure is applicable to the glass windows (SGS supplier, P/N SPSA320-3-X-X or SPSA320-4-X-X).

A. Get Access
(1) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 5M (16 FT)- ADJUSTABLE in position at zone 210, in front of the sliding window.

C. Removal of the Component
(1) Remove the reading lights, if installed (Ref. AMM TASK 33-12-12-000-001):
(a) FOR [8DG1] (WINDOW-SLIDING, L)
(3) Remove the Electronic Flight Bag (EFB) Display Unit (DU), if installed (Ref. AMM D/O 46-26-22-00).
(4) Remove the EFB DU mounting-bracket, if installed (Ref. AMM D/O 46-26-22-00).

D. Removal of the Sliding Window Lining
(1) Open the sliding window 8DG1 (8DG2) (Ref. AMM TASK 56-12-11-010-001).
(2) Remove the screw (5) and the pencil holder assembly (7).
(3) Remove the screw (21) and the washer (20).
(4) Remove the screw (19) and the washer (18).
(5) Remove the handle (6).
(6) Remove the screw (9) and the washer (8).
(7) Remove the screw (15) and the washer (14).
(8) Remove the guide (13).
(9) Close the sliding window (Ref. AMM TASK 56-12-11-410-001).
(10) Remove the blanking plug (4), the screw (3) and the washer (2).
(11) Remove the screws (11) and (12).
(12) Lift the plate (17).
(13) Remove the sliding window lining (16).
(14) Disconnect the electrical connector (10) from the receptacle.
(15) Put the CAP-BLANKING on each disconnected electrical connector and receptacle.
(16) Remove the structural bracket assembly, if installed (Ref. AMM TASK 56-12-11-000-803).
4. Procedure(1) Open the sliding window 8DG1 (8DG2) (Ref. AMM TASK 56-12-11-010-001).
(2) Remove the screw (5) and the pencil holder assembly (7).
(3) Remove the screw (21) and the washer (20).
(4) Remove the screw (19) and the washer (18).
(5) Remove the handle (6).
(6) Remove the screw (9) and the washer (8).
(7) Remove the screw (15) and the washer (14).
(8) Remove the guide (13).
(9) Close the sliding window (Ref. AMM TASK 56-12-11-410-001).
(10) Remove the blanking plug (4), the screw (3) and the washer (2).
(11) Remove the screws (11) and (12).
(12) Lift the plate (17).
(13) Remove the sliding window lining (16).
(14) Disconnect the electrical connector (10) from the receptacle.
(15) Put the CAP-BLANKING on each disconnected electrical connector and receptacle.
(16) Remove the structural bracket assembly, if installed (Ref. AMM TASK 56-12-11-000-803).

A. Removal of the Sliding Window Panel
(1) Loosen the screws (32).
(a) For the screw that is behind the axix of the control panel, use the 98D56103002001 WRENCH, REMOVAL - SLIDING WINDOW OF SPS .
(2) Use the CUP - SUCTION to hold and move the sliding window panel (30).
(3) Hold the window panel (30) in position and remove the screws (32) and the washers (33).
(4) Move the frame of the sliding window to the open position (the sliding window panel (30) stays in position in its housing).
(5) Carefully remove the sliding window panel (30) and the retainer (31).
(6) Remove the sealant from the retainer (31) with the Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) soaked with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) .
(1) Loosen the screws (32).
(a) For the screw that is behind the axix of the control panel, use the 98D56103002001 WRENCH, REMOVAL - SLIDING WINDOW OF SPS .
(2) Use the CUP - SUCTION to hold and move the sliding window panel (30).
(3) Hold the window panel (30) in position and remove the screws (32) and the washers (33).
(4) Move the frame of the sliding window to the open position (the sliding window panel (30) stays in position in its housing).
(5) Carefully remove the sliding window panel (30) and the retainer (31).
(6) Remove the sealant from the retainer (31) with the Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) soaked with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) .
