1. Reason for the Job
This procedure is applicable to:
  • the SGS (formerly SPS) fixed window that has a stainless steel Z section (P/N SPSA320-5-2-2 and SPSA320-6-2-2).
  • the PPG fixed window that has a stainless steel Z section (P/N NP165333XX).

B. Get Access
   (1) Put an ACCESS PLATFORM 5M (16 FT)- ADJUSTABLE in position at zone 210 in front of the fixed window.

4. Procedure
Subtask 56-11-12-390-050-A
A. Repair of the Weather Seal of the SGS (formerly SPS) Fixed Window
   (1) Examine the seal for erosion, cracking and adhesion to the glass surface. With a SCRAPER - PLASTIC, remove all the loose, cracked or damaged sealant.
   (2) Clean with Non Aqueous Cleaner_- Methyl-Ethyl-Ketone - (Material No.08BBF1) and a Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) .
   (3) Apply TAPE - ADHESIVE to the periphery of the glass plane.
   (4) Apply Polysulfide Sealant-Windshield Fillet - (Material No.06AFB1) with the 98D56103003000 SPATULA-WEATHER SEAL (98D56103003202) on the weather seal of the SPS fixed window stainless steel Z section (P/N SPSA320-5-2-2 and SPSA320-6-2-2).
   (5) Let the Polysulfide Sealant-Windshield Fillet - (Material No.06AFB1) cure for a minimum of 6 hours.
   (6) Remove the TAPE - ADHESIVE.
   (7) Clean the fixed window (Ref. AMM TASK 56-10-00-110-002).

B. Repair of the Weather Seal of the PPG Fixed Window
   (1) Examine the seal for erosion, cracking and adhesion to the glass surface. With a SCRAPER - PLASTIC, remove all the sealant that is loose, damaged or has cracks.
   (2) Clean with Non Aqueous Cleaner_- Methyl-Ethyl-Ketone - (Material No.08BBF1) and a Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) .
   (3) Apply TAPE - MASKING to the edge of the glass plane.
   (4) Apply Adhesion Promoter-For Polysulfide Sealant - - (Material No.06PAG1) on the weather seal of the stainless steel Z section of the PPG fixed window before you apply Polysulfide Sealant-Windshield Fillet - (Material No.06AFB1) .
NOTE: The sealant curing time and mixing ratio must obey the instructions of the sealant-kit manufacturer.
   (5) Apply Polysulfide Sealant-Windshield Fillet - (Material No.06AFB1) with the 98D56103003000 SPATULA-WEATHER SEAL (98D56103003202) on the weather seal of the stainless steel Z-section of the PPG fixed window.
NOTE: The sealant curing time and mixing ratio must obey the instructions of the sealant-kit manufacturer.
   (6) Remove the TAPE - MASKING.
   (7) Clean the fixed window (Ref. AMM TASK 56-10-00-110-002).
