1 Cracks
2 Scratches
3 Chips
4 Delamination
5 Bubbles
6 Discoloration or burning
7 Transparency
8 Crazing
9 Burn spots
10 Heating film cracks
(b) Examine the acrylic fixed windows for burn spots
1 Point the FLASHLIGHT at 45 degrees to the outer surface of the window panel.
2 Examine the busbar for burn spots.
(c) Examine the acrylic fixed windows for crazing
1 Put the RULER 150 MM (6 IN) - METALLIC perpendicular to the surface of the fixed window panel where you see the maximum depth of the crazing.
1 Cracks
2 Scratches
4 Delamination
5 Bubbles
6 Discoloration
7 Transparency
8 Interlayer microflakes
9 Burn spots
10 Heating film cracking
(b) Examine the glass fixed windows for burn spots
1 Point the LIGHT SOURCE - WHITE at 45 degrees to the outer surface of the window panel.
2 Examine the busbar for burn spots.
5. Close-up(1) Inspection of the acrylic fixed windows (GKN supplier, P/N NH...)
NOTE: In the inspection tables, the word "impaired" refers to the visibility. The visibility is impaired when defects have effects on it.
If the visibility is impaired, it is necessary to replace the window panel.

(c) Examine the acrylic fixed windows for crazing
1 Put the RULER 150 MM (6 IN) - METALLIC perpendicular to the surface of the fixed window panel where you see the maximum depth of the crazing.
NOTE: You can use the MICROMETER - OPTICAL as an alternative to the metal ruler.
2 Look at the ruler reflection with an angle of vision of 45 degrees to find the depth of the crazing. NOTE: The correct depth is approximately two times the depth found.
NOTE: You can use the MAGNIFYING GLASS POWER 10X as an optical aid where the depth of the crazing is at minimum.
(2) Inspection of the glass fixed windows (PPG supplier, P/N NP... and SGS supplier, P/N SPS...) NOTE: In the inspection tables, the word "impaired" refers to the visibility. The visibility is impaired when defects have effects on it.
If the visibility is impaired, it is necessary to replace the window panel.
(a) Examine the glass fixed windows for:If the visibility is impaired, it is necessary to replace the window panel.
1 Cracks
2 Scratches
NOTE: There are two procedures to measure the depth of the scratches. The fingernail procedure which helps you to measure an approximate depth of the scratches. The MITUTOYO surface-tester procedure which helps you to measure the accurate depth of the scratches. If the MITUTOYO surface tester is available, the MITUTOYO surface-tester procedure is recommended because it gives accurate measurement results.
a If you see scratches, you must do a check of the depth of the scratches: - With the MITUTOYO SJ201 SURFACE TESTER (SJ201) or the MITUTOYO SJ210 SURFACE TESTER (SJ210) (Ref. AMM TASK 56-10-00-200-004) (Ref. AMM TASK 56-10-00-200-004), or
- With your fingernail.
