Repair of the Soft Liner (SGS (formerly SPS) Windshield)
This procedure is used to repair the soft liner when it has scratches. (The scratch must not go as far as the structural glass ply).
This procedure is only applicable to the SGS (formerly SPS) windshield panels with a soft liner (SGS (formerly SPS) supplier P/N SPSA320...).

MAKE SURE THAT THE CIRCUIT BREAKERS RELATED TO THE WEATHER RADAR ARE OPENED, SAFETIED AND TAGGED.
1. Reason for the JobThis procedure is used to repair the soft liner when it has scratches. (The scratch must not go as far as the structural glass ply).
This procedure is only applicable to the SGS (formerly SPS) windshield panels with a soft liner (SGS (formerly SPS) supplier P/N SPSA320...).

(1) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) on the wiper selector switch to tell persons not to operate the windshield wipers.
(2) Make sure that the windshield wipers are in the parking position.

A. Repair of the Soft Liner
(2) Apply the material with circular movements on all the surface, specially where there are streaks, marks and dirt.
(3) Let the material dry and remove it with Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) .
5. Close-upNOTE: This repair procedure is only applicable to the windshield panel that has a soft liner on the inner surface (SGS (formerly SPS) supplier P/N SPSA320...).
NOTE: Do not remove the soft liner from the windshield. The soft liner is part of the windshield. If it is necessary to replace the soft liner, you must remove the windshield and send it to the Vendor. Only the Vendor is approved to replace the soft liner.
(1) Apply Non Aqueous Cleaner-Windshield Hydro-Carbon Based - (Material No.08BKE1) with Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) on the inner surface of the windshield. (2) Apply the material with circular movements on all the surface, specially where there are streaks, marks and dirt.
(3) Let the material dry and remove it with Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) .

A. Inspection of the Wipers
(1) Make sure that the wipers are in the correct condition and replace if necessary (Ref. AMM TASK 30-45-53-000-001) and (Ref. AMM TASK 30-45-53-400-001).
