Installation of the Horizontal Support Struts between FR74 and FR77
WARNING:

- THE FLIGHT CONTROL SURFACES
- THE LANDING GEAR AND THE RELATED DOORS
- COMPONENTS THAT MOVE.
WARNING:
BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU USE CONSUMABLE MATERIALS. OBEY THE MATERIAL MANUFACTURER'S INSTRUCTIONS AND YOUR LOCAL REGULATIONS.
NOTE: The installation of one support strut is given. The procedure is the same for the other support struts.

A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) Make sure that the aircraft is in the same configuration as for the removal task.
(2) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is(are) in position to tell persons not to move the flight controls.
(3) Make sure that the access platforms are in position.
(4) Make sure that access door 312AR is open.
(5) Make sure that access door 314AR is open (Ref. AMM TASK 52-41-23-010-801).
Subtask 53-53-11-864-053-A (1) Make sure that the aircraft is in the same configuration as for the removal task.

A. Preparation for Installation:
(1) Clean the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
(2) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
(3) Protective treatment.
(a) Apply Non Hardening Jointing Putty-Medium Temp. Area - - (Material No.06LCG9) to the bolts (9) and the bushes (6) and (7).
Subtask 53-53-11-420-050-A (1) Clean the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
(2) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
(3) Protective treatment.
(a) Apply Non Hardening Jointing Putty-Medium Temp. Area - - (Material No.06LCG9) to the bolts (9) and the bushes (6) and (7).
B. Installation of the Horizontal Support Struts:
(1) Install the bushes (6) and (7).
(2) Put the support strut (1) in position and install the washers (8) and the bolts (9).
(3) Install the washers (10) and the nuts (12).
(4) TORQUE the nuts (12) to between 2.2 and 2.0 m.daN (16.22 and 14.75 lbf.ft )
.
(5) Safety the nuts (12) with the new AIPC 53-53-04-01-040 COTTER PINS (11) or AIPC 53-53-84-01-040 COTTER PINS (11).
(6) Put the bonding straps (4) in position and install the screws (2), washers (3) and nuts (5) (Ref. AMM TASK 20-28-00-912-802).
(7) Apply Corrosion Preventive Compound-Heavy Duty Soft Film - (Material No.12ACC1) to the work area (Ref. AMM TASK 51-75-13-916-002).
5. Close-up(1) Install the bushes (6) and (7).
(2) Put the support strut (1) in position and install the washers (8) and the bolts (9).
(3) Install the washers (10) and the nuts (12).
(4) TORQUE the nuts (12) to between 2.2 and 2.0 m.daN (16.22 and 14.75 lbf.ft )
. (5) Safety the nuts (12) with the new AIPC 53-53-04-01-040 COTTER PINS (11) or AIPC 53-53-84-01-040 COTTER PINS (11).
(6) Put the bonding straps (4) in position and install the screws (2), washers (3) and nuts (5) (Ref. AMM TASK 20-28-00-912-802).
(7) Apply Corrosion Preventive Compound-Heavy Duty Soft Film - (Material No.12ACC1) to the work area (Ref. AMM TASK 51-75-13-916-002).

B. Close Access
(1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) Close access door 314AR (Ref. AMM TASK 52-41-23-410-801).
(3) Close access door 312AR.
(4) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
(5) Remove the access platform(s).
(6) Remove the ground support and maintenance equipment, the special and standard tools and all other items.
(1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) Close access door 314AR (Ref. AMM TASK 52-41-23-410-801).
(3) Close access door 312AR.
(4) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
(5) Remove the access platform(s).
(6) Remove the ground support and maintenance equipment, the special and standard tools and all other items.
