A. Get Access
WARNING: PUT THE SAFETY DEVICES AND THE WARNING NOTICES IN POSITION BEFORE YOU START A TASK ON OR NEAR:
  • THE FLIGHT CONTROLS
  • THE FLIGHT CONTROL SURFACES
  • THE LANDING GEAR AND THE RELATED DOORS
  • COMPONENTS THAT MOVE.
MOVEMENT OF COMPONENTS CAN KILL OR CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS AND/OR CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE EQUIPMENT.
   (1) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT) in position below access door 312AR.
   (2) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 4M (13 FT)-ADJUSTABLE in position below access door 314AR.
   (3) Open access door 312AR.
   (4) Open access door 314AR (Ref. AMM TASK 52-41-23-010-801).

B. Preparation of the Inspection Area
   (1) Make sure that the inspection area is sufficiently clean to do a satisfactory inspection of the area.
WARNING: BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU USE CONSUMABLE MATERIALS. OBEY THE MATERIAL MANUFACTURER'S INSTRUCTIONS AND YOUR LOCAL REGULATIONS.
   (2) If necessary, clean the inspection area with the Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) and a Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) .
   (3) Make sure that the inspection area is dry before you continue.
   (4) Do a visual check of the inspection area for damage.
   (5) If you find damage:
     (a) Refer to the ASRM SRM 511100 for the classification of the damage
     (b) If you find corrosion damage:
  • Refer to the ASRM SRM 512200 for the general corrosion data.
  • Refer to the ASRM SRM 517400 for the repair of the corroded areas.
   (6) If necessary, make the surface of the inspection area smooth with CLOTH-EMERY (GRADE 280).
4. Procedure
Subtask 53-51-00-220-050-A
A. Special Detailed Inspection
   (1) Do the special detailed inspection (HFEC) of the lower flanges of FR72 and FR74 between STGR10 LH and STGR10 RH, NTM 535163. Look for cracks.
   (2) Make a report of damage during the inspection procedure.
     (a) Refer to the SRM 511100 for the classification of the damage.
     (b) If you find corrosion damage:
  • Refer to the SRM 512200 for the general corrosion data
  • Refer to the SRM 517400 for the repair of the corroded areas.
     (c) If you find other types of damage:
  • Refer to the SRM 517300 for the repair of minor damage.
5. Close-up
Subtask 53-51-00-410-075-A
A. Close Access
   (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (2) Close access door 314AR (Ref. AMM TASK 52-41-23-410-801).
   (3) Close access door 312AR.
   (4) Remove the access platform(s).
   (5) Remove the ground support and maintenance equipment, the special and standard tools and all other items.
