A. Get Access
WARNING: PUT THE SAFETY DEVICES AND THE WARNING NOTICES IN POSITION BEFORE YOU START A TASK ON OR NEAR:
  • THE FLIGHT CONTROLS
  • THE FLIGHT CONTROL SURFACES
  • THE LANDING GEAR AND THE RELATED DOORS
  • COMPONENTS THAT MOVE.
MOVEMENT OF COMPONENTS CAN KILL OR CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS AND/OR CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE EQUIPMENT.
   (1) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT) in position below the access door 312AR.
   (2) Open the access door 312AR.

B. Preparation of the Inspection Area
   (1) Make sure that the inspection area is sufficiently clean to do a satisfactory inspection of the area.
WARNING: OBEY THE MANUFACTURER'S INSTRUCTIONS WHEN YOU USE THIS/THESE MATERIAL/S. USE PROTECTIVE CLOTHING, RUBBER GLOVES, GOGGLES AND A MASK.
WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT THERE IS A GOOD FLOW OF AIR THROUGH THE WORK AREA WHEN YOU USE SPECIAL MATERIALS. IF YOU GET ONE OF THESE MATERIALS ON YOUR SKIN, IN YOUR MOUTH OR IN YOUR EYES:
  • FLUSH IT AWAY WITH A FLOW OF CLEAN WATER FOR BETWEEN 10 AND 15 MINUTES.
  • GET IMMEDIATE MEDICAL AID IF IRRITATION OCCURS.
DO NOT BREATHE THE FUMES FROM THE MATERIAL. DO NOT SMOKE WHEN YOU USE THE MATERIAL. DO NOT USE THE MATERIAL NEAR A FLAME, SPARKS OR SOURCES OF HEAT. THESE MATERIALS ARE DANGEROUS: THEY ARE POISONOUS, FLAMMABLE AND SKIN IRRITANTS.
   (2) If necessary, clean the inspection area with the Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) and a Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) .
   (3) Make sure that the inspection area is dry before you continue.
4. Procedure
Subtask 53-51-00-210-066-A
A. Detailed Inspection
   (1) Do a detailed inspection of the reinforcement splice of the AFT face of the rear pressure bulkhead at the forward fin attachment. Look for cracks.
NOTE: If necessary, refer to the ASRM SRM 535116 for the correct repair procedure.

A. Apply Corrosion Preventive Compound-Water Displacing Soft Film - (Material No.12ABC1) or Corrosion Preventive Compound-Water Displacing Hard Film - (Material No.12ABB1) to the inspection area (Ref. AMM TASK 51-75-13-916-001).

B. Close Access
   (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (2) Close the access door 312AR.
   (3) Remove the access platform(s).
   (4) Remove the ground support and maintenance equipment, the special and standard tools and all other items.
