A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) is in position at aft cargo-compartment door 826.
(2) Make sure that aft cargo-compartment door 826 is open (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-001).
(3) Make sure that the applicable floor panels in the aft cargo compartment are removed (Ref. AMM TASK 53-42-14-000-001).
(4) Make sure that the necessary insulation blankets are removed (Ref. AMM TASK 25-80-00-000-001).
4. Procedure(1) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) is in position at aft cargo-compartment door 826.
(2) Make sure that aft cargo-compartment door 826 is open (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-001).
(3) Make sure that the applicable floor panels in the aft cargo compartment are removed (Ref. AMM TASK 53-42-14-000-001).
(4) Make sure that the necessary insulation blankets are removed (Ref. AMM TASK 25-80-00-000-001).
Subtask 53-49-21-860-051-A
A. Preparation for the Installation
(1) Remove the remaining sealant with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) , the Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) and the SCRAPER - NON METALLIC from the strap (2), the valve retainer (3) and the structure.
(2) Make sure that the parts retained from the removed component are clean and in the correct condition.
(3) Clean the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
(4) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
Subtask 53-49-21-420-050-A (1) Remove the remaining sealant with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) , the Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) and the SCRAPER - NON METALLIC from the strap (2), the valve retainer (3) and the structure.
(2) Make sure that the parts retained from the removed component are clean and in the correct condition.
(3) Clean the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
(4) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
B. Installation of the Drain Valve
(1) Put the valve retainer (3) and the strap (2) in the installation position.
(2) Install the valve retainer (3) and the strap (2) with the AIPC 53-49-04-01-050 PINS (4) and the AIPC 53-49-04-01-040 COLLARS (1) ( SRM 514211).
(3) Apply Polysulfide Sealant-Low Adhesion Brushable - (Material No.06AEA1) or Polysulfide Sealant-Low Adhesion Fillet Structure (Material No.06AEB2) on the mating surface of the drain valve (5) and the structure.
(4) Install the drain valve (5) in the valve retainer (3).
(5) TORQUE the drain valve (5) to between 2.0 and 1.5 m.N (17.70 and 13.27 lbf.in )

(6) Apply a bead of Polysulfide Sealant-General Purpose Fillet - (Material No.06AAB1) on the collars (1).
(7) Do not apply Polysulfide Sealant-General Purpose Fillet - (Material No.06AAB1) on the cutouts of the valve retainer (3).
5. Close-up(1) Put the valve retainer (3) and the strap (2) in the installation position.
(2) Install the valve retainer (3) and the strap (2) with the AIPC 53-49-04-01-050 PINS (4) and the AIPC 53-49-04-01-040 COLLARS (1) ( SRM 514211).
(3) Apply Polysulfide Sealant-Low Adhesion Brushable - (Material No.06AEA1) or Polysulfide Sealant-Low Adhesion Fillet Structure (Material No.06AEB2) on the mating surface of the drain valve (5) and the structure.
(4) Install the drain valve (5) in the valve retainer (3).
(5) TORQUE the drain valve (5) to between 2.0 and 1.5 m.N (17.70 and 13.27 lbf.in )
. (6) Apply a bead of Polysulfide Sealant-General Purpose Fillet - (Material No.06AAB1) on the collars (1).
(7) Do not apply Polysulfide Sealant-General Purpose Fillet - (Material No.06AAB1) on the cutouts of the valve retainer (3).
Subtask 53-49-21-410-050-A
A. Put the aircraft back to the serviceable condition.
(1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) If removed, install the insulation blankets (Ref. AMM TASK 25-80-00-400-001).
(3) Install the floor panels in the aft cargo compartment (Ref. AMM TASK 53-42-14-400-001).
(4) Close the aft cargo-compartment door (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-002).
(5) Remove the access platform(s).
(1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) If removed, install the insulation blankets (Ref. AMM TASK 25-80-00-400-001).
(3) Install the floor panels in the aft cargo compartment (Ref. AMM TASK 53-42-14-400-001).
(4) Close the aft cargo-compartment door (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-002).
(5) Remove the access platform(s).
