Subtask 53-45-15-010-051-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Get Access
(1) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 1M(3 FT) in position at the bulk cargo-compartment door.
(2) Open the bulk cargo-compartment door (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-006).
(3) Remove the floor panel 162JF at the entrance to the bulk cargo-compartment (Ref. AMM TASK 53-42-17-000-001).
4. Procedure(1) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 1M(3 FT) in position at the bulk cargo-compartment door.
(2) Open the bulk cargo-compartment door (Ref. AMM TASK 52-30-00-860-006).
(3) Remove the floor panel 162JF at the entrance to the bulk cargo-compartment (Ref. AMM TASK 53-42-17-000-001).

A. Removal of the Scuff Plates
(2) Remove the screws (2) and the washers (3).
(3) Use the HOT AIR BLOWER MAX OPERATING 370 DEG C (700 DEG F) to increase the temperature of the scuff plate sections (1) and (4).
NOTE: Damage can occur to the scuff plates during the subsequent removal procedure.
NOTE: All types of damage are permitted on the scuff plates if the structure is in the permitted damage limits.
(1) Remove the sealant from around the scuff plates with the SCRAPER - NON METALLIC. (2) Remove the screws (2) and the washers (3).
(3) Use the HOT AIR BLOWER MAX OPERATING 370 DEG C (700 DEG F) to increase the temperature of the scuff plate sections (1) and (4).
NOTE: The temperature of the scuff plates must not be more than 100 +50 deg.C or -0 deg.C (212.00 +90.00 deg.F or +0.00 deg.F).
(4) Loosen the scuff plate sections (1) and (4) with the WEDGE - NON METALLIC. CAUTION:
MAKE SURE THAT YOU DO NOT DAMAGE THE FUSELAGE WHEN YOU REMOVE THE SCUFF PLATES.
(5) Remove the scuff plate sections (1) and (4).
