A. Get Access
(1) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT) in position at the aft passenger/crew door.
(2) Open the aft passenger/crew door (Ref. AMM TASK 52-10-00-010-001).
4. Procedure(1) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT) in position at the aft passenger/crew door.
(2) Open the aft passenger/crew door (Ref. AMM TASK 52-10-00-010-001).

A. Removal of the Scuff Plates
(2) Remove the sealant from around the scuff plates (3), (4) and (5) with the SCRAPER - NON METALLIC.
(3) Use the HOT AIR BLOWER MAX OPERATING 370 DEG C (700 DEG F) to increase the temperature of the scuff plates (3), (4) and (5).
NOTE: The scuff plates can become damaged during the subsequent removal procedure.
NOTE: All types of damage are permitted on the scuff plates if the structure is in the permitted damage limits.
(1) Remove the screws (1) and the washers (2). (2) Remove the sealant from around the scuff plates (3), (4) and (5) with the SCRAPER - NON METALLIC.
(3) Use the HOT AIR BLOWER MAX OPERATING 370 DEG C (700 DEG F) to increase the temperature of the scuff plates (3), (4) and (5).
NOTE: The temperature of the scuff plates must not be more than 50 deg.C (122 deg.F).
(4) Loosen the scuff plates (3), (4) and (5) with the WEDGE - NON METALLIC. CAUTION:
MAKE SURE THAT YOU DO NOT DAMAGE THE FUSELAGE WHEN YOU REMOVE THE SCUFF PLATES.
(5) Remove the scuff plates (3), (4) and (5).
